MICLO19
I'm sure the story line and missions for GTA V are all written and final so this will be a "what if" post. WHAT IF the final mission was a nearly impossible mission where it's so long, so difficult, but so fun?! I only ask because in nearly every video game the final mission, or level, or boss would be the most difficult. But I never find them to be too difficult in gta games. What type of mission Would it be and what ideas for that mission do you guys have, more importantly to make the mission most difficult but fun? ME being me, I would love it to be a jail break where you can't free roam till it's complete! Taking out guards unarmed, prisoners rioting, fires, sprinkler system going off, other inmates trying to kill you, walking past cells and watching inmates being decapitated by other inmates, inmates being thrown from the highest tiers to the ground! I could probably keep going but I want to hear what y'all got!!!
ThaGriffBall
I see what you're saying. I've never found final GTA missions too hard either. The final mission in Bully was IMO the funnest along with the one from TBOGT. Great topic.
chuckberry04
Some extremely hard chasing mission threw the mountains where you hear the guy your chasing saying things that eventually solve the story. I think a bit like the final mission in GTA: SA rite? But harder. Edited April 27, 2012 by chuckberry04
grope_4_that_date
GTA5 needs to be harder. I miss the frustration, and it felt a lot better when I finally beat certain missions. I remember playing one of the San Andreas missions 11 times!

Slamman
It won't be, though some missions have been, the more the game evolves, and it being allowable to offering more ways to skin that cat, you can find a means to an end. Also noted, as long as several GTA missions have been, they don't reset back to the beginning if you fail. Some have noticed that it may even move your progress FORWARD from where you die.... Question to you I guess, You find THAT a problem?!? hahaha
Da_Lurker
Actually, I think the latest GTA (barebones IV) had the toughest final mission ever. Didn't complete Vice City (so, maybe that one was harder?) but III and SA weren't that complicated. I hope, as grandiose as they want it to be, it won't be the "Use all the Vehicles" massacre that IV's finale was. So, V could go either way. Total piece of cake, with check-points every 5 secs, a pure visual spectacle with no challenge, or the hardest mission ever. I'd go for a middle ground, but no idea about the setting. We don't know anything about the story yet!

Something similar to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' final mission is good in the time frame. I didn't like how in some of the games, the last mission would be real easy, but some missions are hard as f*ck.
Durden
Yes I would love it if the last mission made the player utilise all if not most of the game's features. San Andreas partially did this, as you needed to use the Fire Extinguisher to put out a fire. I thought this was really cool. The last mission in V should include a minigame, flying a plane, parachuting, shootout, car chase, stealth, etc etc.
Triple Vacuum Seal
I agree. GTA final missions are generally very easy and are just scenic. They been among my least favorite in recent GTAs because they are too much on the rails. "shut up, sit down, relax"
Psychotic Mind
I would love it. One kind of ending I thought of was where at the end the protagonist is captured, and is put into a cage and forced to fight guys in hand to hand combat. Okay that was just off the top of my head lol, its not that great of an idea BUT I would love to see it made very difficult. Come to think of it, I think there was a hard mission like this before in SA or 3, can't really remember which. There were chainsaws i think. Tipper
a nearly impossible mission where it's so long, so difficult, but so fun? If it's long and nearly impossible, it means we'll have to play it a lot of time, doing the same sh*t all over again, so it can't be fun. Now I don't mind a more difficult mission, but it shouldn't be too hard neither. GTA games never were difficult (I really don't get why you guys found the RC Baron mission in SA difficult, you just fly around, shoot a few vehicles and enemies and go back, never had trouble with this one personnally). For the last mission, I'd like it to be long and varied, making us use as many gameplay possibilities as possible, like SA and IV, and in a smaller measure, TBOGT. Timjones
Nooo not Supply Lines! I hated that mission. I never completed it on PS2 but odly enough got it 1st time on PC, I was so glad. Back to the topic: I don't want something that's ridiculously hard, repeating the same parts over and over again can get really annoying - GTA should be about fun. In GTA IV there was a bug on PC that didn't let me get in the helicopter in the final mission so I had to do the first part of the mission endless times trying to find a solution for the bug. Not fun. While I'm talking about annoying missions, don't make me rely on a crappy AI player to complete a mission like on Wrong Side of the Tracks. Smoke even had the nerve to say it was my fault that we failed

MICLO19
The rc baron mission was most difficult for me MENATLLY because it was SO BORING .. Which is why FUN is the key word to these difficult missions I'm trying to get y'all to come up with. The bank mission in IV was my favorite mission because it was FUN. Even the scenes, when your just sitting, watching, because it was just building anticipation for what was to come. The shootout

I could probably keep going but I want to hear what y'all got!!! Yea i partially agree with you; it should be long, difficult and fun but the final missions in GTA were hard for me. In VC, i remember i had to do redo that mission 3 times before i got it because the enemies were so accurate with their shooting In SA, I only failed the mission 2 times because i kept losing tenpenny in the chase due to the scripted car crashes that were meant to happen And finally in IV, I failed the last mission an infinity number of times because my damn boat could never keep up with the helicopter As long as V's ending are not as difficult as SA and IV's in that sense, then its fine. But im really hoping they go all out; trying to making it as lenghty as possible; maybe involving doing multiple things(1 huge mission consisting of multiple ordinary-length missions?); maybe it could be an hour long...that would be pretty cool. @the guys who talked about the RC mission: Cmon it wasnt really that hard; there were much harder missions in SA then that
CorneliusCoffin
I tentatively disagree with OP, because I feel that especially in Open World Games the main storyline is only a part of the game but it's not THE game. Where in conventional games you get to the final boss battle and afterwards you have beaten the game it is the convention in open world games to let you get back into the world and let you keep playing the game. The part after the final boss battle is generally seen as a continuity from the part before. If the final boss battle were unimaginably hard, it would however give you the sense of having beaten the game. It would therefore create a very disruptive moment within the game and lower the motivation to keep playing afterwards. My two cents on this. Then, again, I'm usually already annoyed if they roll credits after the final boss battle because it disrupts all immersive attempts with the games.
