Pancho the great
Dayz is very dependent on the quality of the server and how frequently they restart.
Rebel
about 10-18fps in a city. That is no fun anymore. Its kind of fun, at least you can play during that terrible FPS. Sure it won't be amazing but you can still pop guys off if they come too close ha.

Potato Boggle
Does anyone know if I'll be banned on the Dayz standalone if I'm banned on the mod version of it? Some asshole hackers teleported me and I ended up getting put on the Dayz global(or whatever) banlist
Rebel
You shouldn't be banned at all from the standalone. Although I have to say if that's a legit reason you got banned then that's pretty hilarious. You can always put in a ticket for requesting to be unbanned - although from the servers I play on, if you just mention you've been teleported by someone else or done something hacker wise mention it in chat/to an admin and they should leave you alone. Happened the other day actually was playing on a server and I was just putting in a waypoint on the map and boom 3 of us got teleported to the airfield haha. Finn 7 five 11
If anyones interested in the DayZ standalone, heres a video about their latest progress Wow that's really cool, it looks great so far, does not look like the glitchy day a we all know. Admittedly it's pretty hilarious getting murdered by a fence or a tree haha.
FullMetal
Looks like the standalone version of the game is going to demand alot of hours from me. A damn lot. For a dev movie that looks already really impressive and with the features they've announced it can only get better and better. Love the environments/interiors... which in the mod version I played at a friend of mine was all a bit disappointing.
OysterBarron
I'm a bit worried to be honest. I've heard it runs on a modified version of the take on helicopters version of the arma2 engine. On my not to be snorted at rig its not very playable compared to dayzmod that I run on top graphics with no problems.
Rebel
From what I've been hearing the standalone version will not be too much harder if at all to run on rigs. I'm just presuming if you can run ARMA 2 you'll be able to run the standalone version at a reasonable/playable rate. And not have the issue with the fall of FPS the second you get into some sort of town/city.

And not have the issue with the fall of FPS the second you get into some sort of town/city. From what I heard on ahem frankies channel the lag in arma2 is caused by the spawning of zombies because they have to many articulations within there bodyframe. This is going to be sorted by spawning up zombies on server start instead of as you travel inwards towards town. I was under the immprssion being able to run dayz mod on max mean I wouldn't have any problems with take on helicopters but I was so wrong. I beleive there is a demo on steam if someone else wants to check what I'm saying. Perhaps it's just my rig but I don't think so.
Rebel
You should take running DayZ on max settings with a pitch of salt. There's gonna be different FPS rates on any server you go to despite what your rig can run. Basically the guys who made ARMA 2 are ass backwards in game design ha. As for the standalone - they are pretty much sending everything server side - food/weapons/zombies/etc so it should be a lot less consuming on your engine. friendly luggage
I get a steady framerate on all servers but I've had to turn off post processing and AA to keep things nice and smooth. Standalone will run better as code which isn't used will be removed. Lots of code is also being rewritten. Graphic shaders look better too in the screens. Shteeve McClaren
This is probably a long shot, but will the standalone be supported on Mac?
Remix
This is probably a long shot, but will the standalone be supported on Mac? Not initially (or probably never). I play all my PC games on my Mac through bootcamp, so if you really wanted to play you could do it this way!
jelly
This is probably a long shot, but will the standalone be supported on Mac? Unlikely, unfortunately, considering no Arma 2 engine derivatives have ever been ported to the Mac. Although, with rocket talking about the game making it to consoles of all things if sales are high enough.. who knows.
Alick
This is probably a long shot, but will the standalone be supported on Mac? As Remix said, bootcamp. It's how I also play all of my PC games. As I highly doubt it'll be making an appearance on Mac anytime soon, if at all.

DeeperRed
I actually think the PS4 could delivery a serious good Dayz experience. However it would only come at their most stable of builds which I can see being a long way off. Though due to the X86 architecture a port is pretty feasible. friendly luggage
It would be nice for console players to experience the thrill of playing DayZ. Sony said that they will be easier on devs with multiplayer games and I hope Microsoft say the same. Back in the day it took 2 months for Microsoft to upload an update for Gears of War 2. DayZ is great but playing too much of it makes you get a bit fed up with it. The other day I found a motorbike and then rode around looting Stary Sober. The speed it could achieve was awesome and I almost crashed into a tree going too fast down a country lane. In the end I raced to Elektro and did loops of the city centre aggroing as many zeds as I can. I only had one persob try and shoot me but in the end my wheels got buggered so I ditched the bike in the school. Character is currently still alive. friendly luggage
I haven't been on in a couple of months but sometimes when I connect to certain servers, there are Vauxhall Vectra police cars and MK4 VW Golfs. I'm mainly waiting for the standalone version now but I hope to play the DayZ mod again soon.
Rebel
Golfs/those police cars have always been in it? Anyway, I still play - alot actually. I've recently discovered Origins for the DayZ mod. Its actually awesome. More guns/cars, you can build your own houses and store stuff in them. Sector B to raid. Big map to play on. Seems a little more than just survive and shoot people, considering you can have a base.

AZAZEL
I've been playing a lot on a server running the Epoch-mod, recently. It has trader establishments throughout Chernarus, where you can trade items for currency, which can then be used to purchase anything from building materials and clothes, to weapons and vehicles. You can also purchase a safe for a large amount of gold, which you can lock so no one can get at your items, except yourself. It also has AI camps spread across the map, of varying difficulties, which you can take on for nice loot. They usually have 4-7 AIs guarding them, with all sorts of weapons from M4s to M107s. Quite challenging.
Ciaran
What are the Private Hive Servers like? I Know you can't shoot on sight and people can rob you
AZAZEL
What are the Private Hive Servers like? I Know you can't shoot on sight and people can rob you Then you have been terribly misinformed? A Private Hive server is just separated from the Public Hive, where your character and items carry over when you switch servers. On a private server, you get a new character, which is tied to that particular server. A lot of them also have custom weapons, vehicles, clothes and whatnot.
