It all depends on the upcoming test. Not sure how you define 'couple' (or the word 'few' - which is the word I used) but generally thats 2+ months. April is literally over a couple of months away! Seeing as they were hoping for a release before the end of 2012, and they've yet to really add the core mechanics they were hoping to achieve by now, I'll take a random stab and say anytime before March is unlikely. It's pretty apparent he doesn't want to put a tentative release date out so he doesn't delay the game any more, but maaaaaaan it's frustrating! Who knows, hopefully it gets released sooner rather than later, but all they're really doing with the tech test is making sure their current engine is as good as it can be before they start adding features. I think Rocket might have not anticipated the work load when designing a game from basically scratch. I'd be happy though if its just the mod with all the kinks ironed out for the initial release. Like decent animations for the zombies, better melee, changed up loot etc then we can just get the additions as they come. Was on a server called UK1 DANGAMING or something like that and while in it, a Russian met me at the airfield along the coast and we fixed up a UAZ there. Took us a while to look for a wheel and he only spoke English in text. For about two hours we went around raiding various places and the NW airfield. Not sure if it'd be financially viable though, they'd probably have to tweak it a bit and add a single player campaign. Did anyone catch the GameZ yesterday? Was AWESOME. Yeah I watched all of Seananners Day Z videos, the first few are short, but then the rest are between 15 minutes and an hour long, I would watch each episode from the beginning, they are quite hilarious watching Seananners and his antics, in later episodes He invites a bunch of other youtubers and it gets pretty hilarious, the first few are just him and another guy, Here's the first one, you can go from there, if you want to find more - "Seananners Day Z episode 2/3/4/5" ect ect. That's more than the double pack on Steam or anywhere else I'd seen. If you want to play DayZ (I dont see the standalone out until after summer) then you'll just bite the bullet and buy OA on Steam or another place - if you'd like to buy a CD for 3 times the price. There's a new patch coming for the DayZ mod in a few days, but in regards to your question there's only really this update: dayzdev.tumblr.com You're probably wanting to know the release date, but unfortunately there still isn't one. Based on all that is constantly said here the standalone is at least a few months away. Rebel Posted January 30, 2013 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Even if you can run ARMA on great settings the second you play DayZ you'll have a piece of crap in terms of what you had in ARMA. I've noticed FPS increases/decreases depending on servers too or how many people are on the server and if they've reset the server recently. Like I was playing a couple nights ago, got about 20+ fps in woods, about 10-18fps in a city. The second they reset the server I got about 20-30fps in cities again.
