Yea Its coming up quick. I am debating on making the trip to Scottsdale this year.

I have never gone to spring training but I have heard it is amazing.

I have lots of family in Scottsdale actually. But I won't be down there for spring training. Im moving down there this summer though. So spring training 2015 here I come

I'm like an hour or so from Scottsdale. I've saw all the fields and stuff before but can't say that I've went there and participated during spring training.

Whereabouts do you live?

Yea it started on Tuesday I believe. The Yankees played Florida State.

The Giants played the A's Yesterday and got killed. No worries, first spring training game don't mean sh*t.

Did anyone catch Josh Reddicks two catches? Holy sh*t. the first one is amazing. Poor Michael Morse. :p

Wow First game of the pre-season and hes already racked up two wall climbers.

How did the NYY-FSU game turn out?

Yankees lost once again to the Pirates, which seems to be a normal thing every year in Spring Training..

Josh Reddick's catches yesterday were truly unbelievable, and then there was that huge bomb by Jose Bautista that left the actual ballpark.

So apparently Russell Wilson is dressing and working out with the Rangers. He wont play but I still think it will be god for the sport to have a football superstar promoting the game of Baseball

Watching the Dodgers @ D-Backs game right now and I'm surprised at a few names in this game, I had no idea Trumbo signed with the D-Backs.. that's what I get for not paying attention to the winter meetings.

Already has the makings of a great game today, great pitching matchup

Mafia Drive Gunner

Guys, as an Aussie I haven't watched much baseball, but the transformation that the stadium (Sydney Cricket Ground) has gone through to make this game possible is unbelievable. It looks so organic, except for the large foul areas.

10 days after the second game the field will be completely transformed again so they can play Rugby League on it, before it gets re-designed again for a full season of Australian Rules Football and then back to the Cricket again in September/November.

The history of that ground is mind blowing from an Australian sports point of view, similar to say, Wrigley Field or Fenway Park if you want to compare it to US baseball stadiums. Glad that we could accommodate such a big event and by the looks of the stadium do it so well.

Really? Wow i didn't know that either. I didn't pay too much attention to the offseason in general this year and now im paying the price I guess. And apparently there were 40k people at the game which is surprising since I never thought baseball was big in Australia.

Cant wait until the rest of the league kicks off in a few days :D this is always the best time of year.

Not looking forward to this year. Blue Jays have some huge holes in the rotation, and a lot of question marks all around the lineup. Plus we open up against Tampa, a team that sh*ts on us. Then after that 4 game series, we gotta face the Yanks. Could see us going 0-7 to start the season. Will probably end up going 2-5, though.

Well my #1 team (twins) havent kicked off yet but my #2 D-Backs went 0-2 in th opening series. With the Twinkies looking terrible as always I was relying on the Dbacks to provide me with some excitement this year and possibly snag a wild card spot.

Really hard to believe opening day is already upon us, though my team (Yankees) won't start until tomorrow against a team that will help start the year off in the right track (hopefully).

Still butthurt about the Trout contract, was hoping as he was a Yankees fan since he was just a boy over in Jersey, that we would see him in pinstripes but nonetheless the kid deserved every cent of that deal, same with Miguel.

I was actually surprised by Trouts deal. I was predicting he would get $30Mill a year average at least. And The Tigers will be paying Miggy $30Mill until he is almost 40. Hope they don't regret that in the future..

D-backs have been my favorite team since they were founded. I used to live in Cali in the late 90s and my sis liked the Giants, we had some great rivalries. I followed them through their championship year in '01(it was f*cking awesome). After that I lost interest in baseball until last season. I also like the Orioles, they are my current 'home' team.

Best Day of the year!

Yep. Unfortunately I dont have cable so I cant watch any games hardly. But oh well still a great time of year!

Apparently I still get WGN on my cure TV package. So it looks like the cubs are my only option :(

Walk off on opening day is awesome. but only 1 run in 10 innings...not so much.

Now the Phillies and Rangers have different problems. They scored enough runs, but their Ace's gave up that many runs?! uh oh.

that's an awesome data map :^:

so home openers.

Cards win. Rockies lose. what else is new?

should be a great season for St Louis as usual. Colorado is just there to kill time until the birds play again.

I'll be surprised if Tulo is still on the team by the end of the year.

It is very interesting how its split almost exactly by TV market lines. And states that don't have teams or have multiple teams are like battlegrounds

D-Backs fall in what sounded like an exciting 9-8 game to the Giants. So both my teams lose close ones on opening day. But oh well 161 more to go :^:
