Didn't St.Louis offer him a 10 year deal but it was less than what the Angels were gonna give him? Then the Angels also have the DH so he could play into his forties. f*ck the DH

gtamann123

I still believe he went to the Angels intending to become a full time DH when he got too old to play in the field. Plus they offered him more money. You can't blame him for leaving. But with how salty Cards fans are about it I bet they don't even want him to wear a Cards logo in Cooperstown

Edited by gtamann123

yeah because we didn't offer him much less.

the deals were pretty similar.

Albert sold out for the money because he believed his career wasn't justified unless (at some point) he was the highest paid player in the game. he didn't go to LA because it was a superior franchise with a brighter future. he may have assumed that the Hollywood spotlight would do more to help grow his own organization and charities, but it was clearly more about the money than anything else.

the DH shouldn't exist, anyhow. it's a retarded 'position.'

pinch hitting already exists. we don't need 2 different rules in 2 leagues. if you're too old to keep playing then GTFO of the way for someone younger who is coming up.

Taxes are higher in California how much is he really making?

It's less than 5% more in California than in Missouri.

$240 million dollars (over $40 million more than St Louis offered)

four season tickets to home games over the next decade

A hotel suite on road trips.

A luxury suite at the ballpark for the Pujols Foundation, his charitable group, for 10 home games a year.

The right to buy a luxury suite between first base and third base for all home games.

Take it as you want lol

GTA3Rockstar

It's possible he could earn almost $270mil in 20 years (from the signing date, so less years to go!)

I'll take whichever contract lol

Figures that the NL West is strong when the Rockies are lighting it up.

They (Rockies Dodgers DBacks) would be leading every division but one. 2 3 and 4th best record.

Rockies just need to keep winning and win the Division because one of the other teams won't make the playoffs because of the dumb 1 playoff game play-in.

GTA3Rockstar

Anybody here play MLB 17 the Show?

Nah, don't really play baseball games, nor do I have a PS anymore.

Sh*tty ass time for the Rockies to go on a skid, 8 games??? Gotta reverse that with a 10 game win streak

Batolo Colon gets cut by the Braves he should have stayed with The Mets

I saw a post on Facebook that said the Nationals should sign Colon to a 1 day contract so he can retire with them. Considering he is the last remaining Expo. I think that would be a pretty neat gesture but considering he only played half a season there it wouldn't really mean much.

Probably because he's one of the tallest hitters in history (usually they've been all pitchers that were taller), only Sexson was taller at 6'8 lol

There's 12 players that are as tall or taller than Judge, and 10 of them are/were pitchers but Sexson was the only long lasting hitter.

Anyone else here think Barry Bonds belongs in the HOF? Never failed a roids test. Never admitted it. No solid proof he did anything other than amphetamines which have been used in baseball for decades and even Hank Aaron was on them. And even all that aside he would of walked into cooperstown if he never did anything. Sure he probably wouldn't have put up video game numbers but he still would have been a 500 home run 500 steals guy and probably would of gotten to 3000 hits because he wouldn't have been intentionally walked as much.

if you don't think Barry Bonds used steroids you're kind of deluding yourself...

I'm certain he used roids. I'm just saying that you can't punish someone for a claim that has no evidence behind it. Plus I don't think he started heavily using until the 1999 season and by the he was already a hall of famer.

Edited by gtamann123

what "evidence" do we need?

anyone with a working pair of eyes can see the pimples on the back, the massive ripped shoulders and thick neck that he never had before but suddenly grew in the final years of his career, the flaring temper and anger outbreaks, he got slow and couldn't steal bases anymore.

The thing is though during the time he was playing the steroid testing program they had was a joke.

They weren't even illegal in MLB until 2003 I believe. So if were going to punish guys who used a drug that wasn't even against the rules when They did it should we also punish all of the hall of fame pitchers who used the spitball before it was illegal? Or the HOF pitchers who doctored the ball in the modern era? (Gaylord and Neikro I'm looking at you) Plus like i said. Bonds never failed a test
