I Love Anna Kournikova 1,985
Yes everyone is making a sh*t load except Hamilton. I don't get the big deal why no one wants to give him money because he is "risk". The dude can play some serious ball.
darthYENIK 8,859
I agree. I don't know why Boston hasn't jumped on him, or any team really. Especially since it seems like no one is interested, they can get a reasonable price. I'd say the Angels should take him, but their outfield is too deep as it is, and they seem to not want to part with Trumbo or Bourjos (one has the "potential" to be a home run champ, and the other a gold glover). El Dildo 14,384
ok I'll just say it: Zack Greinke doesn't deserve to be the highest paid right-hander of all time. I don't understand the current culture of record breaking pitching contracts. they took steroids away from the batters. they didn't turn around and give the steroids to the pitchers. darthYENIK 8,859
It's supply and demand. Greinke is a pretty good pitcher. He's reliable and can win around 15 games, and he was the best starting pitcher on the FA market this off-season. Then you add the Dodgers who desperately want to be Yankees west, and spend obscene amounts on "okay" players, and you have a record breaker. Of course I'm an Angels fan, so I shouldn't talk about spending obscene amounts on okay players, when they spend an obscene amount on a less than "okay" player in Vernon Wells. EDIT: Damn. I didn't want another big contract unless it was a starting pitcher. Edited December 13, 2012 by darthYENIK
El Dildo 14,384
yeah I'm already laughing out loud @ the Angels. I can't wait for them to miss the playoffs AGAIN with Poo-Holes and now Hamilton sucking up cash but failing to deliver. their pain is my pleasure.

El Dildo 14,384
I didn't have an opinion about LA until Albert left St. Louis. he's an idiot for leaving and the Angels are idiots for giving him 10 years. I now relish their struggles and jump for joy when Pujols strikes out.
darthYENIK 8,859
They only really struggled for one month this season, but after that they were one of the best teams in baseball. Thanks to Pujols they had the highest batting average and were third in RBIs and runs in the American league. They didn't make the playoffs because they have a sh*t bullpen. Radoonhagaydoon 2
Blue Jays may get R.A Dickey for guys like d'Arnaud, Syndergaard, sanchez?
luongo01 0
Blue Jays may get R.A Dickey for guys like d'Arnaud, Syndergaard, sanchez? As a Blue Jays fan the only way I'd trade d'Arnaud for Dickey is if Dickey signs an extension. His contract runs out after this season and he might just walk. Shoul do a sign and trade deal. I Love Anna Kournikova 1,985
I think it's risky by the Jays. He is a 38 year old pitcher with a history of arm problems and you traded him away for two top prospects. I realize he is a knuckleballer and that doesn't cause as much stress on your arm but still. However they are all in right now and have already taken risks this offseason so why the hell not?
Radoonhagaydoon 2
I heard that Knuckeballers peak whey they in the late 30s early 40s is that correct?
darthYENIK 8,859
I don't know if they peak that late, but they definitely have longer careers and therefore longer prime years. Swisher goes to the Indians for 4 years at $56 million with an option for a 5th year. I think it's a reasonable price.

darthYENIK 8,859
Spring training is upon us. Any predictions for the new season? I think the Jays will take the AL East. The Giants will continue to dominate the NL West despite the Dodgers' big off-season. The Astros will continue to suck, but not feel that bad because now they're in the same division as the Mariners. The Angels will score 10 runs a game, but give up 15. Mike Trout will be the legit MVP.
Radoonhagaydoon 2
the Blue Jay Spring Training invitees just dominated today's game against the Tigers (BJ's vs Tigers) without big guys in the line-up (Bautista, EE, Reyes) wow. 10-3 the final. Blue Jays have also 7:1 odds chance of winning the world series at the top as other teams are at 8:1 and 9:1.
Johan 5,474
Blue Jays look like they'll give my Yankees a tough break this season but it's going to be very interesting as they took a few of my favorite players like Jose Reyes.. love keeping an eye on Bautista every season too. Amazing win for the Yankees 8-3 pretty confident so far to start the first day of Spring Training.
I Love Anna Kournikova 1,985
My predictions. AL East: NY Yankees AL Central: Tigers AL West: Angels AL WC: Blue Jays AL WC: A's NL East: Nats NL Central: Reds NL West: Giants NL WC: Braves NL WC: Cards Yea I know, big difference in NL from last year . I just don't see the dodgers be as good as everyone thinks they will be. Carl Crawford is garbage, Beckett washed up, Gonzalez not the same as he was with the Padres and neither is Ramirez like he was on the Marlins. 3 years ago this team would look amazing. Now not so much.
Radoonhagaydoon 2
been watching sh*t load of spring training games, also some WBC games at wierd times (midnight or 5 am) - couldn't even watch all of it... can't wait for the more reasonable timed games, E.G. Pool C and D... BASEBALL 4 LIFE. P.S. This topic / baseball chat is very limited to this forum that is filled with WWE / Football (Soccer) / NFL junkies. -_-
I Love Anna Kournikova 1,985
I have Been watching Australias games. I got a buddy who is their first basemen. He played on my High School team. The team sucks but he is 4 for 8 in the tourny. He's in the Brewers Organization.

El Dildo 14,384
all I know is that the Cardinals are gonna' win the NL and the Angels are going to fail to make the postseason again. which means it'll be a good year.

I can hear darth swearing at you from over here. I'm looking forward to this season since it'll be the first full season of MLB baseball which I'll follow. They don't show too many games down here in Australia (a few games a week on both ESPN and Fox Sports), but due to the brilliant timetabling of law school lectures I'll be able to fit games in the middle of the day around my timetable. Unofficially I'm a Dodgers man (their blue caps are sick), but I'm not very picky with teams yet, since I'm still trying to develop an appreciation and love for the league. Otherwise, I'll be really generic and just go for the Yankees. Regardless, really looking forward to this season.

Ari Gold 1,359
No joke; the popularity of Seinfeld in Australia has meant it's pretty much the one team we automatically associate with the MLB down here.
I Love Anna Kournikova 1,985
When they were announcing the Astros roster I couldn't help think I was watching a AAA team play in the majors. I knew they didn't have much, but other than Altuve, it's minor leaguers and has ben's.
