it's just silly; picking Puig for the cover of MLB would be like picking Jeremy Linn for the cover of NBA. they're trying to capture a trend but they're already 6 months late to the party.

 

at least put someone on the cover from a team that has won something in the last 10 years.

put the Kung Fu Panda on the cover.

 

not only is Sandoval popular but the Giants are winners.

That would be tough though since he isnt on the Giants anymore. It wold be wierd to put Pablo on the cover in Giants stuff when he plays for the Red Sox.

It's the new front office. They replaced their GM with the guy that used to be the GM for the Rays. I don't know why they are doing all of these moves. They say they want to get rid of a lot of salary even though they have big pockets and had a very competitive team. These trades are just making the team worse

Kemp is going to San Diego?????? This all went from being an interesting season for the Dodgers... to just being plain out stupid now.

 

Really disappointed in that trade, Kemp had a comeback season last year and unless the Padres have another 2010 record, we won't be seeing him killing it in October.

Motte hasnt really been the same since his Injury though right? Not too big of a loss I dont believe.

Motte was by far the most steady and consistent closer we've had for the past half-decade.

we have good starting, decent relieving, but very iffy closing.

 

a lot of people here would've liked to see Motte make the comback in a Cardinals uniform.

That's because its only a speculation that Piazza did steroids, while Bonds has been confirmed to have done some.

It's not proven that he ever did illegal steroids. The stuff he has taken is illegal now but not at the time he took them.

 

No failed drug tests by the mlb, He is at the same point as piazza and Clemens. Only difference is the media liked piazza.

Bonds deserves to be in the HOF regardless of what he took because he was HOF material prior to his resurgent slugging percentage.

prior to any of the controversy, he was booking his ticket as the charter (and only) member of the 500/500 club. no other player in baseball history is even close to achieving 500 stolen bases and 500 home runs, not to mention 40 and 40 in a single season. he has more HRs against more different pitchers than any other player. he won the MVP like 7 fcking times with 14 All Star trips.

 

with 8 Gold Gloves and 12 Silver Sluggers he is probably the best all-around athlete to ever play the game.

the majority of these accomplishments were set in stone well before the mid 2000's when he began to seriously bulk up and changed his style.

 

I'll always remember Barry as that kid with all the potential.

Yea, most definitely.

 

The only real advantage players get from using steroids is from balls that are normally hit into the warning track are now home-runs. But that is enough to keep a lot of players from getting in the HoF.
