You must be living under a rock for the past 12 years if you don't know that Valve releases games in Valve time.

thank for for being completely useless

Valve has stated that once the game has been approved by the community and when it comes out of beta, which has been an estimate of early next year. Then they will release the game.

Right now, CS:GO is in very early beta, where invites are scarce and hard to get a hold of. I hope that answers your question.

Like others have said, it will be released "eventually". VALVe's release format these days is "Release a beta on PC, make users fight for it, wait years to release the final product: tounge.gif.

They really need to improve on how some things look.

Especially the nades. It looks like a f*cking golf ball when your character is holding it.

To be fair to VALVe, they only hold back games until they believe they're good enough. Can you name a bad VALVe game? (Except Episode 1 but that wasn't so bad)

I have tried the beta and I can say that I definetly won't play it again. Doesn't feel like CS.

Well I guess I was wrong about VALVe, for once. The release date is August 21, for $15:

http://counterstrikego.com/threads/counter...-announced.815/

I probably will not be getting it though, even though I was planning on doing so when it was announced...

My bad, guess I should have bumped the other topic for it.

Thanks man, I look forward to playing it... I use to get down on it when I was a kid... I'm glad they're bringing it back. Took long enough...

Source engine is a marvel of software engineering.

The last truly PC-optimised game engine in my view. Everything since has been lazily-engineered console fodder.

I do, almost at 420 hours played :p

Bumping thread because of ESL One Cologne for anyone who cares to give thoughts on it, personally I saw Fnatic taking it, but i wanted VP to win.

I dont watch that MLG / ESL stuff, or whatever it's called. Excuse my ignorance.

I have about 30 hours in the game now, and I'm only Rank 2 and I'm 1/4 of the way to 3 :p If any of you guys are down to play, feel free to add me -http://steamcommunity.com/id/androidgtaf

I play the same amount and win 2/5 matches most of the time, yet I have trouble ranking up.. any advice? I think once I unlock Competitive it'll be easier to earn XP.

Most of the people I get matched up with aren't even on my skill level, which is what I was assuming would happen in a game like this.

I was rooting for TSM personally, they're currently my favorite professional team, but I'm not surprised Fnatic won. In terms of skill I think they're arguably the best team right now, although I still can't find myself rooting for them in any match after Boostgate. I really want to see TSM vs. Fnatic, I think that would be an incredible matchup: the strategists vs. the adapters.

Yeah, fnatic is insane. But after that sh*t that they pulled last year there's no way I could ever care about them. I'm a NiP fan by the way.

I liked both Team Solomid and Cloud9 from my days playing League, that's kinda followed me over to this.

Renegades too for the obvious reason.

The game doesn't have skill based matchmaking outside of competitive. Heck, anyone playing outside of competitive passed level 3 are probably just warming up before they play competitive.

The level rank really doesn't mean much. It's mainly used to stop

and for the new weapon drop system. Once you unlock competitive, after a certain amount of games you'll be put into a skill group which will match you up with players of similar skill in competitive.

-----

Not really a fan of Fnatic, between

and their "I'm a bad boy" advertising, I find them terribly corny and boring for a video game team.

Their new motto should be "Virgins R Us". Honestly though, that's not being a good sport. They're all sh*t heads with massive egos.

Do you usually rank high, low or mid on casual? If you rank on the top 3 of your team most of the time, keep playing casual since it will get you 180-240XP every round.

If not, I'd say play deathmatches constantly. They last only 10 minutes and can net you around 120- 180xp.

Word of advice though, don't forget all you've learned in casual/comp and start spraying-n-praying in DMs. Yeah you may kill people this way but your aim will never improve and you'll find that these methods don't work outside of deathmatches.

Competitive gives you XP based on your wins (unlike the other modes which depend on your individual score) and does have the biggest multiplier, but is also very time-consuming, so if ranking up fast is your goal I wouldn't suggest competitive.

Most of the people I get matched up with aren't even on my skill level, which is what I was assuming would happen in a game like this.

What do you mean?

You stated you haven't unlocked competitive yet, so if you're talking about casual, there's no real matchmaking there. Every rank is free to play on any server.

Their new motto should be "Virgins R Us". Honestly though, that's not being a good sport. They're all sh*t heads with massive egos.

Sometimes.

Other times you get really good players that are willing to teach and be patient.

As for Cologne, I'm sad to see Cloud9 did not bring their A-Game at all.

And NiP's first match, good grief.

I'll take your advice and start playing Deathmatch a bit more in my free time. Some of my first experiences were not so great. From what I've see, you can really spawn close to where the enemies are at, so it's a good idea to listen and look before you move. I'm usually not one of the top three players on my team, cause I usually just defend instead of rushing. I wouldn't mind trying out competitive, since it is a new experience (and cause I'm holding up my friends :p)

Maybe I'm wrong, but I heard that regular matchmaking places you with equal or so skill leveled players. Doesn't really bother me if it's false but I just don't have as much playing time as a lot of the experienced players have anyways. Mistakes will be made

That time I was just referring to that team in particular - I mean they were totally talking smack for no reason even though the match ended. I didn't think it was right to do that kind of thing, and in the end you just appear as the bad person to the general public. Now, if the opposing team was actually talking a lot of crap and being obnoxious for no reason, then maybe (just maybe) they deserved a bit of that.
