I mean it is set 20 yrs ago so darkel would be like 35-40. My theory is that possibly he was an established corrupt business man in vice deeply involved with mr. teal and the swat. Maybe Donald love came to town as a young upstart and through his connections and help from thugs, he brings Mr. black down. With his life and spirit destroyed in vice city, black leaves town for Liberty city and is to be known only as darkel from then on. in an effort to escape his past.
