brandrixco
I don't know the rules for submitting to PEGI but for ESRB the actual game is not submitted before release, just video and written descriptions that reveal any controversial content. The ratings people don't have time to play games find all the naughty stuff. If they find out later that something important wasn't disclosed then there's trouble. ESRB does not play games, they are lead by volunteers of mostly parent groups. Game companies send ESRB the most violent and graphic stuff in the game and ESB then rates it accordingly. In my opinion this is a terrible way to rate games and puts a lot of pressure on companies to not miss any offending material such as:, violent images, sexual stuff, etc . One example of this was oblivion, when ESRB rated the game a T rating based on the stuff that they were given, but what happened was that the game was more violent then they thought (zombies, gore) and had to re-rated M. ESRB is the the mpaa in which they dont actually view all the content. Edited March 16, 2012 by brandrixco
