gtapack
Hey guys, I recently bought GTA4 from gamersgate. and been having problems right from the time I finshed downloading. When i tried to run setup, it won't load saying "your pc is incompatible" i ran it in windows xp mode and it worked. but in the middle of the installation i got a popup saying some file cant be installed and gave me an option to "ignore" retry or cancel...I choose ignore and the rest of the installation completeled smoothly I started the game and: If I press escape to go into the options menu, nothing happens and the screen just stays black. I have to force the game to shut. If I try to play the game, I drive barely for a minute and the car suddnely stops. everything freezes. I can get out of the car and back in using the "F" key but can't move either when in the vehicle or on foot. MY PC specs: Intel core i3 2100 CPU @3.10 GHZ 2 GB ram 1 GB Geforce Gt240 video card Windows 7 32 bit. I am running on the game on lowest settings If anyone can shed some light on this and help me out it would be great. mkey82
When you chose ignore during the installation process, you skipped installation of some files so it's no wonder the game refuses to run normally. You should post the exact error message you're getting. I don't know what type of service does gamersgate offer, but you will have to find a way to validate your download or redownload the whole thing again. Probably contacting their support is the way to go. Also check the game version(s) gamersgate offers, I don't know if they offer separate patches or the game is automatically updated. Hey, Thanks for the reply. I skipped only one file. And I am not getting any error messages. everything in the game seems to be "alive" but I just can't move the car forward. I can get in and out of the car but cant move on foot either!!
