Outcast
not particularly good for a 17" laptop should have at least an i5 on a 17" (assuming you're gonna be using it for watching stuff, playing games, general desktop replacement etc) Also you've got the memory wrong, cant be 500GB but you've probably got 2GB RAM. 500GB HD should be sufficient for most stuff, if not get an external hard drive for all your media etc
OverTheBelow
Depends what you're hoping to get out of it. That thing isn't going to play any new games smoothly, if at all. Movies, web browsing, light photo editing, long battery life etc are best suited for a laptop like this.

Stinky12
Do not grab it, it's based on Lynnfield not Sandy Bridge. You won't save that much battery life running a Core i3 with a 17" Sandy Bridge mobile CPU will have 4 digits not 3. e.g. Core i3 2370M
YankeesPwnMets
For a 17 inch, I'd suggest you just get a gaming laptop. Specs like this can be fit into a 11-13 inch laptop. If you want specs like that (i3, integrated graphics, etc), then just go get an Ultrabook. For something a little bit more pricey, a Macbook Air or Macbook Pro would do as well, even though they are overpriced. http://www.dell.com/html/global/xps13/xps-...c=us&l=en&s=dhs For a 17 inch, you should be getting something like this http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-M17x-r3/pd.aspx For something in between, like a 15 inch, get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834200414 Note that only the 15 and 17 inch laptop would be able to run games like GTAIV... the Intel Ultrabook is more of a portable machine then a powerful machine. SyphonPayne
It really depends on what OP wants to get out of their system. Is this laptop meant to replace a desktop and do gaming/graphics, or is it just for web/movies/etc. ?
Slamman
I personally don't like numeric keypads on laptops, The keyboard can be a major component to how well you get along with your lappy. If you opt for 17 inches, see that it has the graphics card upgrade options as well as two HDD spaced connections, then you're playing with power, and a well engineered motherboard. @Outcast; He's not listing memory really Edited March 16, 2012 by Slamman
