Mister Pink
You got your time machine and you want to go back in time to relive a concert or visit one you missed or was never around to see. Mine are: Woodstock '69, notably Canned Heat. Led Zeppelin, Madison Square Garden, 1973. Queen, Wembley 1986 The Doors, Hollywood Bowl, 1967? Kraftwerk, 1981 Depeche Mode, Devotional tour (I think). What's yours? EDIT: If a mod can edit the subtitle typo *concert, I'd be greatly appreciate it. RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)

Slamman
Hey man! I was gonna post a topic about Reunions again, but just bands where there's little hope you can see live in the reality of time and the situation currently, a Dream Band concert you would most like to attend, Like Woodstock, etc. I think it's a good idea that's not really been tried yet.... You thought basically the same thing There are just tons, of course, but original Floyd, Sabbath, Zep...not to mention a good number of Metalfest style shows, that were just too far to get to One I wanted to see at the time was Tornado Tour with VoiVod and Kreator and Exodus with Celtic Frost, Pandemonium album tour! Rhoda
Oooh, there's a quite a few for me - I think. I say "I think" because I'm going to have a hard time remembering them all. Obviously Woodstock of '69, but really, I think I'd be happy with Woodstock of any year around that time period. I've had my taste of festival experience and to me the atmosphere is just as important as the band playing. Sure, it helps to have a good line-up but I can't say I'd have a bad time at any Woodstock. Aphex Twin in his analogue days, so any date of his in the late 90s or early 00s where he told everyone he was packing music in and retreated to quiet shows close to his home town. For music like that, while it's nice to have a massive tent or even arena full (hello Chemical Brothers) I consider smaller, more intimate performances to be that much better. The Residents, back in the 1980s when I'm assuming all the original members were still kicking it. I'm assuming now the current line-up of theirs consists of one or two original members (if that), and while the quality of music hasn't declined, I'd still love to see the complete package if you know what I mean. If the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. Then there's a bunch of bands that didn't exactly have memorable dates, but their presence alone would be mindblowing, especially in their prime. I'm talking bands and artists like Black Flag, Melvins, Nirvana, Johnny Cash, Rod Stewart, Guided By Voices, Bob Dylan, Nick Cave, The Beatles... sh*t, the list could literally go on for hours. locolow2011
I don't really care about locations, only years. Radiohead '98 OK Computer tour. Judas Priest '84 Defenders Of The Faith tour. Iron Maiden '86 Somewhere In Time tour. Metallica '85 Ride the Lightning pre- Master of Puppets tour. Alan Parsons Live Project any time in the 90's Nirvana '93 Pink Floyd '75 Wish You Were Here tour. Interpol '05 Antics Tour Guns N' Roses '92 Use Your Illusion tour. Well i think thats it. Slamman
Wish You Were Here and Animals tour, both albums! Late 70s! YEAH @Craig, I doubt overall you'd like being at Woodstock '99, they were not in a suitable place and it was VERY hot without enough cooling stations, a near riot broke out, and since it's been hard to justify another Woodstock event I hope they do, the one in 1994 was awesome I'd say UFO as well, with Michael Schenker and Paul Chapman, early 80s. MSG on their early 80s tour. I was just too young to see gigs in those days, no car, no license.,,, no money Edited March 14, 2012 by Slamman
Mr White0161
From the title I thought this was going to be about the RUSH Time Machine Tour during '10-'11 Concerts I wish I saw... Led Zeppelin; Madison Square Garden 1973 The WHO; Live at Leeds RUSH; 2112 Tour & Hemisphere Tour Bon Jovi; Lost Highway Tour Pink Floyd; Dark Side of The Moon & Wish You Were Here Tour's Journey; *really any live performance during the late 70's & early 80's* ...That's all I can think of for now but I'm sure there are far more out there I'd love to have seen. Robinski
Would have loved to have gone to Reading festival '92. Not only is its counterpart (Leeds) my festival of choice, but it was Nirvana's last UK gig ever. The one where Cobain came on stage in a wheelchair after the press were wanging on about his mental health.
Marlowe.
Monsters of Rock '91 at Donnington: Metallica, Pantera and AC/DC. Can't think of anything mightier than that. Some bands in their prime: Megadeth, anywhere, circa '95; Queen with Freddie; Ozzy with Rhoads; Neil Young anytime, anywhere in the 70s; Skynyrd with Ronnie; Pink Floyd in the 80s; a young Sabbath, and of course, Zeppelin circa '77 In My Time, Since I've Been, Stairway, Ten Years, Kashmir, No Quarter and Achillies - I would kill my mother, father and whoever I have to, to see that set live! Oh, I would love to have seen Mastodon about 8 years ago, when they might have played "Hearts Alive". Edited March 14, 2012 by Marlowe.

ilovebender.com
You know it, I know it, that if I ever did make it back in time, I'd go see Guns N' Roses live at the Hippodrome de Vincennes in Paris on 06/06/1992 . Sometimes I look for future me in the crowd at that show.

Slamman
I had the video from the followups, but felt I'd already seen enough of WS69 in favor of buying the film, however, I'm not opposed to getting that too. The PayPerView of Woodstock 94 only covered two days, later with the official video, I saw clips of the first day's lineup acts. I also missed out on rebroadcasts WS Overnite, when they aired footage they shot while covering a band on the other stage .... If I'd only known. If you're at a show, and there are two or more stages, you're going to miss something!
trip
1987 Summer Dead tour, Rochester NY. I don't remember what day, but I was cranky and decided to leave the show and go back to camp. As I was walking back they busted out a killer "Love Light"*, but I had already left the gate and couldn't go back in. I couldn't find it on youtube but might be why I walked out - I f*cking hated Hell in a Bucket. In 1982 I had tickets to see Hot Tuna with Jorma. I played hooky from school and my mother found out. She took my tickets and I missed the show(heard it was amazing). I wouldn't mind going back and not playing hooky that day. I now have 2 unstubbed tickets from that show - I wonder if they will ever be worth any money? *For reference . I was at this show too, but wasn't cranky so I didn't miss anything.
