TinTinn
I have been thinking lately, how will Rockstar publicly advertise GTA V. For Grand Theft Auto IV, they advertised in American cities with the building posters. Do you think we will be seeing more of that, but in what way. I personally think if they did anything like that, they'd get a Blimp with the GTAV logo written on both sides of it and would hang around Los Angeles or other cities it might be in. The poster for IV
Gtaghost22
Same as GTA IV i think! I like your "blimp" idea btw
TinTinn
Yeah, that idea seemed possible. If GTA V 'does' include all three cities, maybe they will have someone pilot a Blimp over San Francisco and Las Vegas as a cool gag.
RipGore
that wud be SO epic for a blimp in LA to hover over and have the GTA V artwork visble from every direction.

HeNDo6750
Have a virtual image on the famous landmarks worldwide Or just announce it on R* website unexpectedly w/o people knowing until the last minute(likely to happen) but when, nobody knows
Ziggy242
They shouldn't announce a release date. They should just ship it to the stores one day and have the games availability travel by word of mouth.

Bad plan, they will hope their game breaks records, and they wanna make a big loud release, when a release date is announced advertising will be everywhere, on TV, billboards, posters you name it. Pretty sure i saw a MP3 or L.A Noire advert on tv a few times here in Aus, can't quite remember though.
GTAxYushix
Would be soooo epic to have a blimp flying around with GTA V stuff on it. Really I would love to see that. The posters on buildings was epic too, looks really great and really famous! Rockstar invest alot of money in their campaigns so expect something big

DjMiikkii
I'm thinking more billboards, painted buildings etc. etc. similar stuff to IV's advertising. They HAVE to do something special somewhere in Cali..
KrushLTx10
Have a commercial with CJ commentating on it saying, back in my day... Los Santos was filled with Gangbangers, dope dealers, and hookers. and now? Well... *epic montage of new protagonist in new car with background music and in the end GTA V logo comes out saying... COMING WHENEVER THE f*ck WE WANT* I would LOVE that

Slamman
Give exclusives to upstart fan sites like GTAChronicles??! We had hoped (/selfish promo) I mean, GTAF, veteran GTA supporting web sites! Yeah. Actually someone I think has started a rumor that info could come via the gaming sites, but I am skeptic
ryuclan
They won't advertise. The game will be released on an undisclosed date at a very obscure store, like a sex shop. The word will get around via word of mouth.

Morsaw
Most of Rockstar's recent games got a huge Billboard somewhere in NYC, cant quite remember the name... Im absolutely sure that GTA IV & RDR got an advertisement on this spot. Here it is! GTA IV: http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa...=1t:429,r:0,s:0 RDR: http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa...1t:429,r:22,s:0 They both also got a spot on the world famous Times Square! Or as us GTA'ers call it, ''Star Junction.'' GTA IV: http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa...1t:429,r:18,s:0 RDR: http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa...=1t:429,r:2,s:0 As you can see, all of these Adverts were in the same spots. Most likely R* will utilize these spots to promote GTA V. Edited March 14, 2012 by Morsaw
Versous
With all that max Payne 3 Marketing stuff they're planning (Champions league final commercial) it wouldn't surprise me if R* is planning something huge for V! That'd be cool to see a GTA V Nascar team! I'm not sure, but it'd be pretty cool if a few 7-11s in California or NYC changed their name to "24-7" and tried to replicate themselves like in GTA just to promote the game. 7-11 did something like this back in 07 for The Simpsons Movie (to Kwik E Mart). GR7
It would have been ideal to advertise it as a summer blockbuster seeing as it will be the biggest game coming out this or next year and also because we'll be returning to Vinewood.
TinTinn
Maybe creating a Vinewood (HollyWood) looking sign somewhere visible into the streets of LA.
