How shall i make GTA iv Work Smoothly?

Honestly, I would recommend you to just upgrade your system. I doubt there's anything you could do to make the game run smoothly on that PC.

You need atleast a Dual Core and a good Graphics Card like HD 5570 or better.

 

Just wait and i'm uploading all the files and settings that i'm using to make GTA IV run better on Low End PC

 

Processor is Athlon II X2 245 and an OnBoard Geforce 8200 Graphics.

 

EDIT: try this, it can help you a bit.

 

make a commandline.txt or without .txt (text document file) in your Gta IV Directory

 

 

-width 640

-height 480

-novblank

-minspecaudio

-fullscreen

 

 

Graphics Settings ingame:

 

Resolution : 800x600

Texture Quality: Low

Reflection - Low or Off

Shadows - Off

 

View Distance & Detail Distance: 10 to 20

 

Vehicle Density: 10 to 15

 

Shadow Density: 0

 

But still i recommend you to upgrade PC. If you have plenty of cash, get a Quad Core and a decent graphics card as others said.

I was having a hard time playing on a dual core setup save your self the hassle and get at least a quad core computer with a decent graphics card

You can forget about running GTA IV on that machine. Go play the GTA III era games for now until you get an new PC

what resolution do you want to play (what size is your computer's monitor)? for 1024x768/1280x1024, you would need something like this:

I don't think so i need to upgrade my computer configs except the processor

for processor i thinking to go for a AMD PHENOM X2 and go currently for 4GB Ram

Mainly i need to collect some money for it!!

And i don't think so that i need graphic card as Geforce 7025-512mb(inbuilt) and Nvidia Geforce 8400GS - 1GB

If Any Suggestions Why My Graphic Card is not Good please explain as i don't know much

8400GS is not a gaming card... keeping the onboard 8200 on that machine would be just as good.

 

Yes, your father is right about upgrading it. Get a new computer ($500-$550 USD could do) and it would be a better bang for your buck then upgrading your current machine.

 

If your dad doesn't want a new computer now, just buy GTA SA, VC and III and play with those for the time being. All three of them are just as good, if not better then GTA IV (GTA SA is my favorite). I remember playing and working so hard toward getting 100% with GTA SA that I almost forgot about IV...

your videocard has so few shader cores, that nvidia doesn't want to tell us the number!!!

even if you had a quad core processor, you would need at least 32 shader cores to run GTA IV on LOW settings @ 1024x768...

first thing, upgrade videocard to 48 shader cores or more (again, for 1024x768).

the memory available on the card comes into play as far as the monitor's resolution + details, but i have found that it is best to concentrate on shader core count most of all. then come back if you need to.
