You talk about observations, models, theories, and hypothesis. Facts are for philosophers and preachers to sort out. If you want to hold something as an absolute truth, as facts are required to be, you are dealing with beliefs, and that's not what science is about. So yes, saying that evolution is fact is silly. But not quite as silly as "Theory of Intelligent Design", I'll give you that. You are right. The term I should have used is in fact Theory. Since Theory in Science means it's a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for our observations. But there's the fact of evolution. Evolution (genetic change over generations) happens, just like gravity does. But I'm sure he wouldn't have understood it that way, since he thinks about the common use of Theory as an hipothesis.
