Inncognitoo
The thing is, even though it can be an optional thing to buy a car in GTA, It takes away GTA from its element. To get cars, you steal them, not buy them. When you play GTA, you always want the fastest car in the game, the problem was that the best cars are the rarest. You had to find them. If you can just buy it off a dealership it just proves laziness and it takes away that "HOLY sh*t!" feeling when you find the best car. If you want to find your car, there's probably a dealership that has the car in the game, but you don't buy it, you take that sh*t! I'm not saying this is a bad idea, but it's an idea that we might not expect in GTA V.
interpolfan11
@interpolfan11: Actually no. SA for example, lacks cheats for four door sedans. Also, many people don't like cheating, because they want to get 100%, and using a single cheat and saving the game makes that impossible. I doubt R* will neglect to add a cheat for a four-door vehicle ever again. As for the people who refuse to use cheats, that's their prerogative. And notice that I wrote that "I don't really care" rather than "I hope it's not in the game." If they do add the ability to buy cars, good for you and the folks that want the feature. Again, I'm not personally against the inclusion of this feature, it's just not something I particularly desire.

I'm not saying this is a bad idea, but it's an idea that we might not expect in GTA V. The rarest cars would be either too expensive or wouldn't be available. They would still be rare. Cars like the Romero, the Patriot, Hustler, the Broadway, even the Glendale, could become rare cars; Patriots might be military SUV's like in SA and thus, they would only be available at army bases. Romeros could only be found near cemeteries, Hustlers would be found only near race circuits, and the Broadway and Glendale, for being too old, could be found only in or near towns or at car conventions... which leads me to another concept; car conventions. Every week there could be car conventions at race circuits or at a convention center, where you can find relatively rare cars, and customized and special versions of normal cars. Every week there would be different vehicles and if you're lucky, maybe you'll find there a rare and good looking car. However, there would still be rare cars that still wouldn't show at conventions, like cars only available during missions (the Romero in IV was only obtainable during a mission; it won't be seen again in all the game and it's kinda hard to find it). But we don't want to always buy cars, so just because YOU don't like the ability to buy cars doesn't mean that they have to listen to you and take it out
azali10
As long as I can have a car that I can flip, blow up, crash, drown, burn, or forget, that will always show back up at my safehouse, I don't give a crap about how they go about implementing the feature. You don't necissarily have to buy them.
Alfabutt
This is GTA, not Midnight Club. GTA = Grand theft auto why am i pointing out the obvious? because the obvious answer for this is no. This takes away the GTA element, which I know will never happen. Dude I respect ur opinion but if uve read the threads recently ul find that rockstar are heading away from the crime aspect and are focusing a lot on story and realism. There was a thread with a quote from rockstar that they won't be satisfied until they create the best virtual outside life game. I don't need to prove that quote cuz its def on this forum somewhere. As for rarity for the more rare cars considering gta is focusing highly on the almighty dollar and we could start off a poorper, it could take ages to afford a rare car cuz they would be either antique for the old cars or concept cars for the sports cars. Also if u wanted a challenge maybe rockstar could make challenges to unlock the more rarer cars in the garage. Just cuz we would have the opportunity to buy cars doesn't mean r* won't put the odd vehicle for us to find. Anyway I think rockstar is going all out this time to please fans, and in my opinion I think this will be the best gta to date! This was the quote by the way.....Not that they will rest on their laurels, according to Les The Benz, a key figure in Rockstar, whose work as the series producer has given him a multi-million pound fortune. “Until we’ve simulated the world outside,” he says, “we’re not going to stop.”' Edited March 13, 2012 by Alfabutt

Lock n' Stock
???Are you serious? Yeah, there's an Auto Merchant in Broker somewhere in the game in which you can purchase several vehicles. Then again, some people haven't played Chinatown Wars. It's a pretty unpopular game in the series as far as I know. Shame because it actually does a great job of bringing the series to the DS. Actually, I borrowed it from a friend for a week, but I never realized I could do that. I kept doing disorder, missions or selling and buying but I didn't knew that until this week.
