nocunoct
I can't believe there are no threads focusing on this: In all GTA's, the only way to get vehicles is by thieving them, (hence the "theft" in Grand Theft Auto. But I think that shouldn't be the only way to get cars. I think it's kinda frustrating when in missions we have to get a four seater, and you arrived on a two doors car that took you a lot of time to find. Sometimes you can't see any four door car near, and you have to get in your car, drive around the hood looking for the 4 door, and then leaving your appreciated car to get in the 4 door. When you finish the mission, your car ain't there any more. Here, I'm purposing a car buying system. We go to a car dealer, we buy a car, and that car will ALWAYS spawn at your safe house in perfect conditions, even if you leaved it in the middle of the forest or the desert. It would only stop to spawn there if it gets destroyed. Let's say that you want a Sentinel. You only have to go to the Ubermacht dealer, and if you have the paper, you choose it from a list of available cars, select the colors and buy it. We could buy old cars too, but this time we would have to go to a used cars dealer. It would be the same, but with older cars, or maybe a few current cars but with defects for example. We could also sell any vehicle, provided that they arrive to the car dealer in almost perfect state. Leave your comments and suggestions below please. lslarko
Definately a great idea, i would quite like the ownership perspective to play a bigger role this time around, vehicles and stuff always feel so impersonal in gta games, whether or not you try to look after it or not. Hopefully the unique license plates in the trailer will actually mean something and make just jacking a nice car and keeping it abit harder. In the real world your not going to be able to rob a Lambo (Infernus) boot it 3 blocks from the scene and lose the heat from that car, owning your own whilst hard would attract much less attention. Maybe playing on both those ideas, might make you use your vehicle during a high profile crime less tempting if it could be traced back to you, "Transporter" style changing number plates anyone? A little less cheesy than SR3 did it and voila! I only disagree with the "it stops spawnin if destroyed" thing. I'm Perry sure you wouldn't want to keep buying that rare car cause it suddenly flipped for no reason 17 times.
Cheddarhead7
In GTA IV you could sell cars to Stevie after completing all his missions.
B_E_N_1992
Yes i think you should be able to buy/sell cars.. in SA you could do this but in V it should be updated and you can do it over the internet. In IV you had a car website but you couldn't actually buy anything. In V there should be a vehicles website where you can buy a wide range of cars, bikes etc. This is just one ways of buying/selling cars you can go into a dealership like in IV and go to the desk and view the cars for sale, if you want to sell a vehicle you can drive it into a garage next to the dealership and it tells you how much money you can get for it and you can accept or deline the offer. I think this is a good way of buying/selling vehicles if it is going to be in V.

Akavari
buy ok but sell hell no every car i steal it , I will sell it easy way to earn money !! No thanks wont be fun Rather than selling any car you find, there could be restrictions. Vehicles your character 'owns' should be able to be sold. A car you bought from the dealership, all the cars you are given during the story (Roman's Cab, Bryce's Infernus, etc). For stolen vehicles, I'm sure there could be some kind of chop shop elsewhere to offload them for a quick buck. Basically like Stevie's S&M Autos in GTA IV, you drop off any old car and get a sloping reward for it.
CommonSeb
I think it should be like this. When you buy a car you also buy insurance. If you leave the car somewhere it will appear at a car dealership or storage after 24 hours where you can pick it up, in either the same condition as you left it, or pay a small fee to cover the cost of getting it back in mint condition. But if the car is totaled I think it should be lost for good. That way we take some risks by driving too recklessly Also if you steal a fancy car you could buy (expensive) insurance in form of a one time payment for it to get the same deal with the tow truck company Edited March 12, 2012 by CommonSeb

I think this is a good way of buying/selling vehicles if it is going to be in V. i see where you are going there. i was thinking why has knowone bought up selling on the internet. where i come from there is a thing called autotrader where you can buy and sell cars. how about using the camera function on your phone going to the nearest computer, upload it to say the website GBAY or summat ha see what i did there theres an anurism in there lol anyway, u can choose the price in which to sell the car and let the community bid or buy lol, come back to the computer a few days after and it should be sold unless u set the price too high. and as for it being too easy how about, if u wanted to sell the car a.k.a at the side of a garage how about this.......if you commited a crime in the vehicle they will not accept it and you will have a wanted level for trying to sell it and could get arrested. i spose they could have 2 options in gta v. legit way: as explained above illegal way: like steves garage but because the vehicle will have a rap sheet, u will have to pay for a service like (changing plates) so the price you get for the car will decrease. And as for buying, i always wanted to buy cars in game, gives you something to spend ur cold blooded millions on! infernus:- 200 - 500 gs. what do u guys think? CJPNE
I like the idea of owning cars and being able to buy them at car dealerships. It could also solve the "I've got nothing to spend my money on" problem too. Or help to solve it.

Just an idea tho although unrealistic that is kinda funny to me, actually made me chuckle. yeah that could work. i know its not the sims but with ur idea implemented instead of a 1 off payment maybe ud have to pay a fee each week or summat, not in person of course and obviously if u didnt have the money ud get a 1 star level. maybe the insurance idea would be best for bought cars tho and wouldnt appear with stolen ones?? Jacko427
This would be damn awsesome! What about you drop a death body in the trunk but you forgot to dump that body somewhere in the sea. You sell the car, withing a week or so the cops comes to arrest you.
TyphoonJames
I think V must have some way of buying vehicles, be it through a dealership or the internet. Also, I'd like a system similar to horse deeds in RDR where once you tamed a horse, you could summon it. Obviously this is impossible unless you're James Bond or there's a delivery system XD

Your car would reappear undamaged or almost undamaged if you bought insurance for it. @JStarr31: After reading this idea about insurances, I think that the insurance company should give you money or a new car for a total loss. I said that about loosing it if we destroy it because I hadn't considered the insurance thingy, and because maybe some people can get bored of their car and are too lazy to go to a used car dealership or to enter a website and sell it. @Gtaghost22: I thought of this because a lot of people want new ways to spend their money. It wouldn't be 100% obligatory you know. I mean, we could be introduced to it in a mission, maybe we could be buying or selling a car for a boss or something... but after that you don't need to buy or sell any other car. I'm thinking on also being able to buy other vehicles like boats and even helicopters and planes, and to be able to convert our cars into taxis if we want to, so we don't have to go and find a taxi (it's harder to find taxis in LA than in NYC), for doing taxi missions. Also, we should be able to choose the safe house where we want the car to spawn, and if we park that car in another space it will spawn there until we move it again. EDIT: Insurances could be bought in the same dealership where you bought the car, or if there's a banking system, we could buy it at a Bank of Liberty or something like that. RED_
I like the idea, there could be a special feature with it too, for example, yes you'll have to save up for the best cars but when you get it then you can have them delivered to you via your phone whenever you need it or you can special editions of the cars we see on the road. CDT_boss
Our beloved Rockstar made Midnight Club: LA a fantastic game with lots of customizing and a decent LA map aswell... Just saying! I have high hopes for this game! It really bugged me that I couldn't buy cars from Brucie's dealership or the Turismo dealer in GTA IV so I hope they add the ability to GTA V, I mean we could buy and sell cars in good old Vice City and San Andreas. Inked.
I like this idea, not because I care about realism or anything. I'm just so sick of never having access (without cheats) to the cars I need. interpolfan11
This is probably the fifth time I've seen this thread since I've joined this forum. The ability to buy cars will probably be in V since so many people have been asking for it for literally years now. Personally, I don't really care if it's in the game since there's always a cheat code for some kind of four-door vehicle.
Inncognitoo
This is GTA, not Midnight Club. GTA = Grand theft auto why am i pointing out the obvious? because the obvious answer for this is no. This takes away the GTA element, which I know will never happen. nocunoct
@Inncognitoo: I guess you didn't read the first post completely. Also, as I said in the first page, buying cars would not be obligatory. You can steal as many cars you want. Buying would be completely optional. @interpolfan11: Actually no. SA for example, lacks cheats for four door sedans. Also, many people don't like cheating, because they want to get 100%, and using a single cheat and saving the game makes that impossible.
