Ammunition was like a symbol in other GTA's. I remember when I played various GTA's and I'd buy guns from Ammunition and I'd know exactly what the store was about. That's why I would like it to return.

I think the difference is what some people call "realism", "derp derp its more realistic to have back alley gun stores".

Ammunation exists in real life as well so i dunno what people are on about there, i voted for both just for the sake of variety, so long as both are easy to find and are convenient i don't really care.

Since "both" was an option, I voted for that. If I had to pick one or the other, I'd go with the back alley joints like in IV.

gun van: AK, typical pistol, molotov, weapons that would typically be used by criminals and easy to get a hold of.

 

ammunition: Army weapons, high powered weapons, more explosives. More expensive but better guns. Maybe even option to upgrade guns here.

Pretty much this. Ammunation, being a legit store, would have to stay within the confines of firearm retail law, whereas backalley stores are illegal to begin with, so they basically don't give a sh*t about retail limitations and stuff. So this setup would make the most sense and be a little bit more realistic. But really, if you want to make a great combination, Ammunation could have backrooms for the more "special" weapons.

I would like both, but so that both of them have certain advantages and disadvantages.

 

On a side note, maybe even a store for hunting gear? There is a huge rural area, after all, and they could sell hunting rifles, shotguns, knives etc.

Ammu-Nation should carry the regular weapons -- perhaps the lower tiers.

 

The back alley stores should carry the real lethal equipment such as heat seeking RPG, M1014, Barrett .50 Cal, Satchels, etc.

Both, Ammu-nation should have the "legit" weaker, lower tier weapons.. and the back alley stores should have stronger and more crazy weapons

Ammu-Nation should mainly focus on hunting rifles and lower weapons such as basic handguns and perhaps machine pistols. However, "illegal" warehouse stores like in IV should sell more "illegal" weapons, such as more powerful machine pistols, assault rifles, "unorthodox" melee weapons and stronger rifles and shotguns.

i say both. as others have said, ammunation for the regular weapons and the back alley gun shop for the high powered weapons (flamethrowers, grenade launchers....) maybe they could have it that the back alley gun shop is closed at first then you get a mission strand from the owner. once the missions are completed he opens the shop to you, kind of like phil cassidy in VC.

Would be good if your in a ghetto neighborhood there are some back alleys stores, and if you are downtown there is actual stores with a shooting range.

How about some more street connections? Just, I don't want street thugs selling me RPG's. That type of stuff should probably come for a back alley type of store, since I can't imagine going to a legit store and buying an RPG. I think Back alley stores should have lower prices and mostly street weapons and such, while Ammunation or its equivalent should have a massive selection, a website, etc.

 

One thing I would like to see though, instead of all lowest teir pistols being Glocks, how about encountering people on the streets with Glocks, Berettas, and even revolvers? No way every gang member you encounter has a Glock, especially how easy it is to get guns when you're in a gang. I want to be able to walk through Ganton and have some fool try to bust at me with a little .22, and watch me tear him to pieces after he reaches that 6 shot mark.
