Karly
Sorry if this article has been posted. Also I doubt the credibility of this but here it is. Finally, MCV points out one last notable name on the 2012 release schedule; none other than Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V. The site claims that the return to San Andreas will be coming in "autumn 2012." This actually lines up pretty well with my previous guess (mid- to late-September), so I have my fingers crossed. That is probably all you can do until E3, when Rockstar will likely open the floodgates and fill us in with plenty of GTA V details and trailers. http://www.gamefreaks365.com/newsarticle.php?sid=4399
saintsrow
I was wondering why this article had not been posted and discussed and dissected here yet. Seems like someone would be trying to track down that original release list to determine if it is just a bunch of placeholders, or what its pedigree is. DatassGTA
I sure hope it does. It would suck if it came out in 2013 or late 2012.
TwinFire
I think I'm the only one who hopes for GTA V to come out in 2013. We need QUALITY gaming. Not to get the game sooner and get disappointed by few flaws here or there.... amirite?
Karly
My theory is that if they release it this year it must be ready and more or less flaw free.. Why would they release it otherwise? Edited March 11, 2012 by Karly

Not to get the game sooner and get disappointed by few flaws here or there.... amirite? So if it comes out in 2014 it will be even better? And in 2015 even better? wildstyle91
It's geared to be released in 2012 unless R* hit delays which take it into 2013. They wouldn't release a trailer to then release the game more than a year later, that's just stupid.

meson1
I sure hope it does. It would suck if it came out in 2013 or late 2012. So by your logic, it already sucks. Because there's not a snowball's chance in hell that GTA:V will be released in the summer. The earliest it can be now is late 2012 (around September/October/November). That's based on a minimum of a three month lead time for marketing campaign for GTA:V starting a month after the release of Max Payne 3 (to get the initial sales push for MP3 out of the way). Mats17
The game is set in Summer/Autumn, so we likely get an autumn release

But what you wrote clearly states "It would suck if it came out in 2013 or late 2012." It's there in black and white for everyone to see. Are you seriously trying to contradict yourself? Anyway, it's not important. Let's leave it there.
ccrogers15
Im thinking its coming october. Heres why: 1. The series celebrates the 15th ani. 2. GTA VC turns 10 3. Most GTA games release in october.

Los Santos Pedestrian
I'm guessing an October 2012 release, because of the two major events ccrogers pointed out. 1. The series celebrates the 15th ani.2. GTA VC turns 10 I mean, they tried to release GTA IV on the 10th anniversary of the original Grand Theft Auto, but there's evidence in the third trailer that the game was far from finished and needed more work, causing a delay. Also, to the dumbasses that think the game is going to released after 2012-2013 and beyond, you need to see a psychiatrist.

HOTMILFDAD
IV felt completed for me lol. and plus, Rockstar has already gotten used to the RAGE engine since then. They could add so much more stuff into GTA V that they couldn't in GTA IV.
HeNDo6750
IV did feel a bit unfinished, but since then R* has now used the RAGE engine to 11, which GTA IV was at 9 and still is. So GTA V is most likely finished by now, and is sitting on the shelf waiting to go out the doors Just wait R* will surprise us very soon And as the saying goes, "Don't Panic" Whoever is panicking about GTA V's release date Edited March 11, 2012 by HeNDo6750
ll rdny ll
Most likely in May 2013,with october rerelease of GTA 3 and VC for PS3,and maybe 360. It's just a digital release of III and VC, nothing special about them. There won't be any new features, textures or anything. Its just a virtual download for the consoles. There is no reason why GTA V can't release in Fall, alongside the Virtualrelease of III/VC. Edited March 12, 2012 by rodneythesavior

SevenMice
GTA IV was amazing. I do feel though that IV was a "test" for the new engine and all the new physics. I think that Rockstar was, as I said, using IV as a test, and that V will have everything that we all wanted from SA, VC, etc. Also that Rockstar found the flaws, etc. they saw in IV and will have a clean new game with everything that we loved.
