Linki Posted March 11, 2012 Share Posted March 11, 2012 I'm sure you guys know that I love GTA IV to death, but there were a couple things even I was disappointed about it. The biggest one was the fact I couldn't interact with the big planes that circled the map and the airport. III was also like this, so I sort of understood why. Considering V will be the SA of this generation, I've been fantasizing about crashing a jumbo into a busy highway and seeing what that would look like with all the evolved technology we have now. Imagine taking down a jumbo circling the map with a heat seeking missile, with the new RAGE engine! So, do you think we will be able to interact with the big planes this time? If not, why? Death2Drugs Posted March 11, 2012 Share Posted March 11, 2012 I think jumbo jets are confirmed for GTA V. No, adding planes wouldn't cause terrorist controversies. If there's a mission that tells you to crash a Helicopter in the Rotterdam Tower, or crash a Shamal in Downtown Los Santos, then people will get pissed. universetwisters Posted March 11, 2012 Share Posted March 11, 2012 i kinda doubt that planes will appear i mean, its just gonna be los santos. unless they make los santos ridiculously big, or add a sh*tload of airports in the city, planes will be pretty pointless plus, with the new physics engine, wont that make planes harder to control? B_E_N_1992 Posted March 11, 2012 Share Posted March 11, 2012 hopefully they will be. as you said IV is compared to III in that it was the first GTA on its platform and that V will be compared to SA cause it in the GTA that has experience with the console. so hopefully you can do alot more things in V that you could in V like you could in SA that you couldn't in III. i think the physics of destroying the big planes shouldn't be just one big bang like with vehicles, you might see a damaged wing etc. and it slowly getting destroyed. if they are in the air then they will desend and crash not just blow all up in the air.. it has to look realistic, but im sure everything in V will be the best in any GTA So far. Idiot people like Jack said GTA IV was a terrorist simulator cause you can bomb things randomly, get a buzzard and shoot rockets everywhere, blow up cars, kill mass amounts of people, etc. But still. They avoided some issues by not using planes in IV because of liberty being a parody of NY. (9/11). So, in GTA V being in LS, it should have planes. (it was confirmed in the trailer too). We don't know if there will be more than 1 city. There could be a medium city based on San Bernardino, or San Diego and possibly Tijuana may be in the game. Not to mention some countryside. 2. I don't think a new physics engine will make planes hard to control. And no! Why would planes be pointless? We could do a lot of fun stuff with planes. And the icing on top of the cake was the HYDRA they made it blatantly obvious that this aircraft wads returning and that you would be able to fly it.
