Posted March 10, 2012 Share Posted March 10, 2012 You said that within the 4 or 5 years they only gave us a trailer, do you know how difficult it is to build a brand new game, 5 years in game development isn't really much, there are constant issues and problems within Game Development and if one person doesn't keep to the schedule the whole development cycle will slow down dramatically. Stop bad-mouthing Rockstar, they know exactly what they are doing and are doing a fine job about it too. If you don't like it, please use the log-out button above as I believe the majority of users on this forum are here to talk about one of their favourite video game franchise and developer, not bitch about how "all we get is a trailer after 5 years". Just because Activision manage to get a new Call of Duty out every year does not mean 5 years is a small amount of time, Call of Duty is the same year on year with some new maps with recycled textures and sounds and mechanics. Grand Theft Auto V looks to have brand new everything, Casting alone and getting voice acting and sounds for the game takes up at least half of the development time, and if a couple of sounds aren't ready it can halt the whole development process. Also, Rockstar strive and always deliver top-class content, they wont give us any half-ass lame attempt at a game, they never have done. Just be patient, and news will soon come along. But, don't expect any news until the Max Payne 3 campaign is complete. If GTA IV was lifeless for you, why are you even here? You are basically saying that what we see in the Trailer looks too similiar to that what we get San Andreas, which is one of your favorite games, but at the same time you are complaining that the things looks like GTA IV graphical-wise, which you did not like as much as San Andreas but for the reason there was, in your opinion, not much to explore in the Liberty City? Hi Wu, Yes San Andreas is one of my favourite GTA games, BUT, it doesn't mean I wanted to go back there. I know many people were divided over a return to San Andreas or a return to Vice city, but I wasn't. I want a new city not one of the old ones. However, in GTA 4 it didn't really affect me as it was so much more different from GTA III, it was rather the lack of things to do which made replay value next to nothing. I don't know exactly how big GTA V is supposed to be (big I'm sure), which is probably the only thing that has so far excited me about the game. Exploration is a major factor in replay value, if V can do it as well as San Andreas but better then I'll be happy. So far, I'm dissapointed that after 4 years the best they could come up with is an improved version of San Andreas. Though in my opinion it's not nearly improved enough, game engines have come such a long way since 2001 and theres no reason why the graphics can't look more realistic while at the same time having a map large enough for exlporation.
