El Dildo
dumb thread is dumb. Rockstar has already made their intentions clear to the public. it's in their official press releases. the reason they haven't released the 2nd trailer yet has NOTHING to do with the YouTube view count of their first trailer. No, it shows every month since January 2010 till now. Every vertical line is one month. You see Red Dead spike in May 2010, Noire spikes in May 2011, and Max Payne shows very little life ever. Meanwhile, GTA is constantly more interesting and peaks in November 2011 when the trailer came out and whenever there is lots of searching for GTA info for any reason. Inncognitoo
What makes you guys think there will be another V trailer immediately after MP3 release?? The second trailer for MP3 just came out, and theres barely two months left for the game to come out. and what happens if MP3 releases? They're still going to promote it, note that it takes months for a game to surpass its selling expectations. They're not going to release MP3 and say "Ok, we're done with it, now let's fully focus on GTA V". No. They're not going to do that. The most we will probably see about GTA once MP3 is released is the basic info, screenshots, background story, etc.. We will probably have another V trailer around August- September or probably in E312, but Max payne is still a R*, and they will promote it just like they always do even after release. I didn't look at it right. I am drunk after all. R* has said that they haven't start the marketing for MP3 yet. And when they do it will be their costliest one yet. I don't know if that will mean more peaks on the chart but that is saying something about what they think of the game. Some might say, "It means they have to spend more money in order to meet previous records. Since they nor I am apart of R* I would have to say, "You don't know what you are talking about because you are a little school boy who has a curfew or no life experience. Ultimately you don't know what the f*ck you are talking about. I know I sound like an asshole and maybe I am. Oh well. In two months we will know. Magic_Al
I did a chart with a longer timeframe to show interest on Google between Max Payne, Red Dead, and GTA from 2004 (earliest data) to now. It shows the only bump in Max Payne interest since Max Payne 2 was the 2008 movie. The old Red Dead Revolver was more interesting than Max Payne is now. Rockstar says Max Payne 3 will be the biggest campaign ever. It clearly NEEDS to be. They look like they have a big problem. If they're successful then Max Payne will shoot up. But anyway this explains why they don't need to say anything about GTA right now.

This company that is responsible for the games that brought you here. What are they thinking? Are they really that naive? That stupid? They're not stupid, they're just taking a risk. Max Payne is slightly less risky than a completely unknown property but the name is only worth so much today. Max Payne 2 was a long time ago and the movie didn't do much. It might as well be a completely new game and Rockstar will have to build an audience for it. They're betting that Rockstar's reputation for detail, good writing, great cinematics, great soundtracks, and offering a shooter with Euphoria realism and a real-world, international detective noir ambience (compared to the adolescent Duke Nukem Forever or the cyberpunk Deus Ex Human Revolution) will attract the same people who think GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption are great artistic achievements. Consider the Max Payne marketing campaign a dress rehearsal for selling Agent, which really will be an all-new property. Selling GTA V will be easy by comparison (although the game still has to deliver actual quality of course).

RDR was from a lesser game Red Dead Revolver but in the long run did considerably better to put it mildly. For all we know the experts both in development at R* and the critics will recognize an evolutionary game. After all, these are the people who create and study extensively the games that we adore. For us to prematurely condemn it for its lack GTA V'ness is not only shows lack of knowledge, but utter immaturity of experience in such matters. It could end up a coup de tat of third person shooters. A new standard of exellence. But how would we know? We are just bystanders in the creative process and a generation that lives off of instant gratification.
Ispintechno
Those charts show a bad investment in progress. For a game nobody asked for I'm sure it will be great for what it is, a 3rd person shooter... Jesus Christ. R* can take the risk though, look what is coming out after. Maybe Max Payne will bring back a dead genre of video game and google will show a cultish resurgence, err new interest in Max Payne. GTAV will save the day regardless. Shortly after MP3 we will get GTA, especially if this data is the tarot card that it is. R* will need to lick its wounds pronto. (little reminder is Google is bang on every single time)

thebestgameever
So MP3 trailer has just under 1,000,000 views and GTA V has over 13,500,000 views. Well that tells you GTA V is more popular than MP3 I doubt anyone would say MP3 is more popular. Anyone who does is either a troll or deluded. R* also know which is more popular, but MP3 targets a different audience, an audience that probably wont get GTA so it's beneficial for them to make this game.
