Outcast
well having posted this in gaming chat i assume you'd be looking to play games on it mainly? if so i'd suggest getting a dedicated machine (PS Vita) but if you were also looking to use it to watch videos, listen to music, surf the net then obviously the iPad speaking from personal experience, gaming on the iPad is significantly more tiring than on a PSP or Nintendo 3DS due to the size and weight of the thing but it really depends on what you'd want to use it for really
Slamman
To game on iPad?! I would, but as solely a portable gaming device is not good thinking, and I seriously doubt you'd limit yourself in that manner
Iminicus
What are you wanting out of the device? That is the main question. If you want a usable Multi Media Device, then go for the iPad. If you want a Portable Gaming Device got the Vita. Are applications important? Do you plan on Facebooking, Tweeting, emailing, etc on it? Do you want PS3 connectivity ( Remote Play on Vita ), Trophies, a great line up of games ( Uncharted )? Do you want simple $.99 games to cool as f*ck $5 games ala Angry Birds to Infinity Blade? Do you want Wifi or 3G as both support these options. Do you want to be able to play your friends? You need to ask yourself these questions and more. Personally, I'd get the Vita as it trumps the iPad in gaming. Also, the iPad 2 is cheap as f*ck now so you can pick them up. You don't need an iPad 3, plus Vita is available now not in a week. If you want a tablet for tablet computing look at the Android options because many of those trump the iPad in all aspects, be it processor, RAM, storage space, screen resolution, etc. Or hold out and see what Windows 8 options are available. Finn 7 five 11
Ipads battery life is still much superior though iminicus. If you plan on surfing the net, keep in mind you will need to buy a sim for your ipad and buy credit for it.

If you plan on surfing the net, keep in mind you will need to buy a sim for your ipad and buy credit for it. Or you can just use WiFi. If you are super hardcore on handheld gaming then totally go Vita. Honestly, I bet you'll have a better time with an iPad if you are willing to forgo it as a portable gaming device. The new iPad is actually 4G LTE compatible. So the edge definitely goes to the iPad in that aspect.
GTAIndonesia
If you want more gaming experience, try Vita, although i don't have it , it looks baddass, it doesn't have too many games now either.
xrCore
I will clear this up quickly. Do you like PlayStation or iOS games? LittleBigPlanet? Motorstorm? Silent Hill? GTA? Etc...go with the Vita. Angry Birds? Gameloft games? Etc...go with the iPad3, though it will cost more. The answer should be obvious. And don't forget, a new iPad will be out next year, and next year, and next year. Game on brother!
Guns N R0se
iPads are complete sh*t. You can get a laptop that does everything it can do and more for a cheaper price. f*cking Apple and it's ingenious marketing targeting hipsters and old people. I don't have an iPad, but I do have an Android Zoom tablet(costs about the same) and I must say they are are more convenient than a laptop. My laptop and tablet sit on the same shelf in the living room. Ever since we got the tablet the laptop has been sad and just sits there unused. When I do use the laptop it now seems all big, heavy and bulky. *MURDOC*
Yeah, tablets aren't really meant to replace a laptop as far as I'm concerned, more like accompany it.
ccrogers15
You would have fun more with VITA. Not much there yet, but its coming. An IPAD is an overpriced oversized tablet thats not even worth $100. Paying $600+ is CRAZY. Drop the ipad= say goodbye to... ipad AND your floor. I had an Ipad, it was horrible. Too big, ugly, and the screen broke because i accidently dropped it 1 time. I sold it on CL, then got an enspert Identity. SO much better, and was only $200 new, and blew my ipad out of the water with gaming. But i got rid of that too cause it was small. Now i have a psp3000 and im more happy. Get a vita.
