Gege
MCV claims that they've managed to obtain a 2012 release schedule which has two new titles (Battlefield Evolved and some Batman game), as well as an autumn release for GTA V. http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/battlefield...-in-retail-sch/ They failed to provide any source or proof, though. HeNDo6750
They "claim" but not legit at all. And many other websites "claim" to have GTA V release date but don't, not until R* says so
LotusRIP
Umm... Why is GTAV not even in the article headline? And Batsman is? No mention of GTA until a brief sentence at the end. Seems fishy but I have a feeling it will be an autumn release (im guessing that's august/september here in Australia )
œaœa
Not enough time..? Assuming they start in May(or earlier) that gives them 6-8 months of marketing. SA had 6 months of marketing and outsold III, VC AND it was the best selling PS2 game of all time.
SheHePaedo
Not enough time to promote GTA V, I guess a 2013 release. The promotion has already begun hasn't it? We've had a teaser and we know it's coming. If we don't have a release date by the end of June then sadly it will be out in 2013.
Rhoda
I reckon it's all hearsay. There's no source so it may as well be a placeholder.
ikillionaire ii
Gta would sell millions with a week of marketing just cause of the name
I Am Jeff Terry
R* will keep us waiting, but not long enough for us to forget V. almost though... I think we will wait until its almost an afterthought and then we'll be given a lot of info an then the countdown will really be on. I think right around may/june at the latest they will start the heavy campaign for V w/ a release date for Oct/Nov 2012. that gives R* all summer and half of fall to promote and build excitement, and it gives the fans tons of info on the game and another 6 months to process the info, blog, discuss and salivate... thats what i would do if I was R*... Magic_Al
Not enough time to promote GTA V, I guess a 2013 release. Actually 6-7 months would be the same time Rockstar has spent focusing on all of their major releases since GTA IV. A fall release would allow a similar marketing schedule as Red Dead Redemption, including the release of a first trailer a year before the game and then not saying anything for several months. GTA IV hype was stretched out because of Rockstar's deal with Microsoft for exclusive DLC. The main reason Microsoft paid $50 million was to be able to brag about GTA IV at E3 2006 before the PS3 was released. The deal unfortunately included announcing a release date prematurely. Note that even with the early announcement, the first GTA IV trailer in March 2007 was when Rockstar started revealing real info and that was only 7 months before the planned release date. When there was a delay, all info stopped cold for several months. There was probably some extra info released to fill some of the gap but not a lot. reform
You don't need this supposed release schedule to propose an autumn release. So far R*'s behaviour is pretty much in line with their past and more recent releases. Everything bar foil hat conspiracy theories point to an October release. Give or take a month or two either way, I'd be very surprised at a release too far beyond that.
MiamiVice1984
I still have my bets on a October - November 2012 release.
AtomicPunk
Imagine if they dropped V right in the middle of summer! Man they would break records on copies sold. I just don't understand why developers don't shoot for the summer months.
Bad Azz
Imagine if they dropped V right in the middle of summer! Man they would break records on copies sold. I just don't understand why developers don't shoot for the summer months. Because in summer you're supposed to go at the beach, not playing video games in yo mommas basement. pez555
Not enough time to promote GTA V, I guess a 2013 release. since when did GTA need promoting? pretty sure every gamer in the world knows what GTA is.
HeNDo6750
GTA V doesn't need a long marketing timeline just because of the name it will rake in millions, in a week
Alba_Bhoy88
I've said since the first reveal that it will be a 2012 date.. I initially thought October or November but feel December may be better with Fifa/COD coming out then... Who knows? I don't particularly mind if it's 2012 or later. This board (and others like it) keep me in the GTA zone lol plus i can spend hours watching all the GTA's on youtube.. Love watching other's play it lol.. don't know why tbh. adam_fozz
Not enough time to promote GTA V, I guess a 2013 release. I think the words you were looking for were "I think"! Thats your opinion NOT fact. If the rumours are true about a 2013 release for the next gen consoles (MCV recently stated that the new XBOX will release next year) then GTA will most likely be out this year. The closer GTA gets to the release of the XBOX the worst the graphics will look compared to the next gen teaser trailers. Rockstar wont want that at all. GTA needs to drop well before next gen fever begins in my opinion. Adam_Fozz
AerialRocket
I think we might get 2 or 3 trailers this year and then we will be getting really hyped up next year.
Snake Without a Tongue
Just one thing, who will miss playing GTA IV+EFLC when V comes out I sick to death of IV. I never thought I'd say it but I am. The V trailer was the nail in the coffin. I'll go back to it in the future, but I'm totally off it right now. Back on topic, V could totally be released at any time and do well, but when has R* done something like that? There's a clear pattern to their marketing strategy. We'll definitely be waiting until spring 2013.
