Just curious to know what you guys think the progress of GTAV is at. We know the game is in "full development", but the trailer we saw November last year looked like the trailer for a game ready to be put on the shelf to me...

i voted 60-80, because i think the game is not finished that's why they are not giving information about the game. When they complete the game and start testing for the bugs and glitches at that time they will start talking about the game.

As the trailer was a bit amazing at first glance, all it ensured was the vision of possibly the greatest game of its genre and, maybe, more. Now as for Los Santos itself, upon deeper analyzation, it seems rather undone (polished and detailed as it may be, its still UN done). One scene even appeared to be "missing" buildings/back-drop of some sort. Along that note, i doubt that all mission data, mo-cap render, cutscenes, and radio is even near close to done. But for a reason i feel. I think R* lets the hype build as to find out the reactions from the fans just in case they added something in they liked but the majority of the fans might have been already saying "It better not have fake steak in it or im not buying it". So time to edit out the fake steak for some of that REAL steak while they have the dev time to do so.

I say 60%

I would say between 60-80 percent as well. Sure as hell is looking like a 2013 release.

I voted for 60-80% i think GTA V is going to be a very late 2012/early 2013 release

60-80%

And also, it'll be coming in May 2013. The timing would be perfect; they've launched almost all of their big games around May since GTA IV, they'd have enough time for plenty of press coverage up to launch, and they wouldn't have to compete with the big holiday titles.

I say 80-90, but what the f*ck do I or anyone else know. It could very well be done already.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

100% and just sitting there, waiting for the right time to release it (April 2012 to be exactly 4 years after IV and not any later, and the start of fiscal 2013 for R* to kick off)

I voted 80-90 percent but I figure with a game the size of GTA there's still alot of work to be done, even if R* is 80-90 percent complete with V.

I swear i saw somewhere that they "are finishing off the minigames" or something along the lines!

I voted 60 to 80%, what i meant was 70-75%.

The trailer looks great, but i am sure that there are many bugs to iron out, and missions that aren't completed and minigames that aren't done yet either, that's judging from the trailer, 4 months later i think they might be 85% finished?

Not long until the final product will be released, not long at all, the wait is soon to be over smile.gif

I voted 80-90. I mean, it is already on Pre Order. I'm sure they are polishing the game looking for bugs and perhaps finishing off the storyline, in my opinon.

Besides, they are basically focused a lot on Max Payne 3 and its release now..

Admins feel free to add an option for 90-100%

Can't seem to do it myself.

Yea but that pre order is not official. Its from external stores, not rockstar.

Under 50. They didn't say GTA V, get ready. They said, GTA V is now in full development. Meaning, we've gathered all the ideas, spread them on a platter, and now we are creating the game. Under 50%.

Indeed; most people thought that it was 80%-90% in Nov. here ==> http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?act=ST&f=239&t=492032

Then, most people thought it was 70%-90% at the beginning of Feb. here too ===> http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=500217

Below 50% is laughable. monocle.gif

It's around 80-90%, to me. However, I've been hearing some rumors that the Mafia II development team is helping Rockstar with the programming tasks of GTA V... sarcasm.gif

Mister Pink

I used to think GTA being released in 2013 was preposterous but now I'm thinking it's not so crazy.

If they joke about end of the world 2012 conspiracies, it'll be a pretty old joke by 2013. Not that its been confirmed they will, but its a strong possibility.

That's because the same people are repeating it and hoping it resonates the more they repeat it but who knows outside of R*? Could be 2012 or 2013.

the bulk of the game will be done. The map is done. The missions are written and mostly made. Assuming they didn't deliberatley create the game FOR the trailer (finish all the bits the trailer shows) then i'd say the completion is VERY high - 80-90 percent.

I think they'll be entering quality control and testing very soon, if not already. I think the will colate feedback from test-gamers (to see how the game plays) other writers (to see how good the story is) and are now probably working on the multiplayer modes, and side missions for SP.

I think we could see a sept/oct, most likely nov release. maybe even a Christmas release. I'm hoping for Sept/Oct release tounge.gif

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.
