Will the sales of MP3 will be affected if R* release some info of GTAV? At the end of the day they only share a R* logo. Maybe not, but what's the point in marketing two games at once when there's no need? Rockstar are focusing their marketing efforts on Max Payne at the moment as the game is due for release in May. Obviously they want to give it 100% of their attention right now rather than releasing GTA info just to stop some people on a forum being upset. Meanwhile Rockstar North are actively working on building GTA V. The game we get in our hands will be the same if not better because of Max Payne (work done on things like animation will likely be used in GTA V for example). If they would be developing it more relaxed and less rushed, they would have had time to post some screenshots or a flash map or a second trailer. The other theory on why they havnt released more info than the trailer back in november is that they do not want to interfere with the marketing and popularity of MP3. They're doing quite the opposite. I don't think that letting a fart like trailer #1 and just walking away like nothing happened is working very well. It is obvious that they had to show something because shareholders were starting to get worried. It wasn't for the fans, in my opinion. But now they are at the mercy of their fanbase---just look how many times they have to clean up R* newswire because nobody cares about anything else except for GTA V. I think that they have/are learning some things right now. But anyways, like I said in another topic, I think we will hear something around march 16-17 give or take a few. It's their game, their marketing strategy - and it works very well. Keeping fans in the dark is why R* Games has such a great reputation. What do you want from them? Do you want them to list every gameplay feature, tell you all about the characters and vehicles, and get you hyped up to think it's something greater than anything ever seen before? Then by the time is released you know most of the things about it and feel let down? Go see THQ for that sh*t. You won't get anything from R* except some trailers and a few drips of info up untill the release phase. It's driving you crazy and they want that to happen. You demanding info is proving why their strategy works. Becuase if they released a trailer tomorrow without warning you would jizz so hard your bedroom would need recarpeted. A logo was all they needed for their website to crash with the amount of traffic. You can't just expect them to give you loads of information because the fans are tired of waiting, that's what sets them apart from other developers. Chill out and wait dude. It's coming. What the f*ck is wrong with u? I'm not asking R* to give info only to me, I'm just asking if they could give us only a bit of info on GTAV not asking for too much info like you're saying. For me their marketing strategy didn't work that well, I know on other fans too. They're f*cking selfish all they cared is our MONEY they don't care of what we feel about the game and R* made me and other fans to be impatient the way they treat us. WHat the f*ck u have to brought THQ with this? Actually R* is not driving me crazy but driving me to hate them and upset with them that's what R* making me now. So don't blame other fans if they're saying bad things to them and swearing them cause R* make them to be like that. And one more thing I don't expect anything for them. Even if they release a new info or screenshot my hate and anger to them will not changed..I won't even buy the Orig one... San Andreas: interactive map slowly unlocked piece by piece leading up to release Plus a little game called GTA4... their whole website was the map. I don't think its because their greedy either, they want to give Max Payne a chance, whats the point of creating a game, just to have it overshadowed by another?? Noire,which my computer was supposed to run,instead I was watching a slow-mo movie).Anyway,they don't reveal info for three simple reasons: 1 - To keep the hipe for MP3 2 - Because it makes the GTA Fans go raging for info,which makes them literally explode when new info comes,also known as a deep marketing scheme 3 - Because of idiots who keep begging for info. Learn something,they revealed the trailer to let us know they are producing it(and apparently,LS is done/near done) and to increase the hipe to MP3. Now go back to your hole. But they've said themselves that in a few month's time we'll be seeing more of it, and believe me we are likely to see a lot. GTA V is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and we're going to learn the main things we want to know (we're going to know the full extent of the map, platforms, main characters, and more details of the story by release). What I like about R*'s approach is that learning as little about a game as possible means that much less is being spoiled for you. I feel like a lot of developers show too much of their games off before their release, which takes away the surprised. With R*, you might not even know what the HUD looks like before you play it if you avoid leaked gameplay videos (and video reviews, I guess). It may seem annoying at first, but it's ultimately beneficial for the enjoyment of the game. We got a pretty in-depth teaser, much more so than most teasers, so I feel that also makes up for having to wait for Max Payne 3 to release before hearing anything else about GTA V. After all, we could even not know what the game looks like, if they went the common route of a title-screen only or CGI teaser. tl;dr: The secrecy is annoying now, but I imagine most people here are going to buy GTA V no matter what. Believe me, it's going to be a damn good game, and the secrecy means you'll be going in pretty blind, which makes it that much more exciting.
