mrmojo_prime Posted March 8, 2012 Share Posted March 8, 2012 Look at it this way I waited nearly 10 years for Duke Nukem Forever to be released with sparse information being released every few years. by the time it was released I had grown out of the Duke's almost mesogynist, overley macho ways, great for a game reflecting the 80's and 90,s but it seems abit dated these days and as for Half Life Episode 3 well..... dam you Valve. Or maybe a refurbished one, with no new features, ya never know what to expect, we all thought we could climb up telephone poles, and all fire escapes in IV, i remember reading that article and was ecstatic but to no avail you got to park a car up against a fire escape to climb up. You can climb poles and fire escapes. How?? I have the PS3 version. Alot of pre press lies in this one for GTAIV If a pedestrian bumps into Niko, he pushes them aside, Assassin Creed-like.- Yea right You can feel the bass of passing cars, and hear the radio that they’re listening to when it goes past. Biggest lies from R* As Niko ascends a telegraph pole, the animations are smooth. Stop thinking about the game, and focus on somthing else. Then when you get info it will be more of a surprise. And you won't be waiting on it like a starving dog. Go play another game or experience life and come back in a few months. The only person who is selfish is the op who doesn't seem to understand that it is important for the company to do things right. To be honest I think they released the trailer too early because now little whiners cannot excercise a little patience. I decide to drop in to see if there's any interesting posts, but it's the same old crap. HeNDo6750 Posted March 9, 2012 Share Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) Right because R* is once again keeping their mouths shut about GTA V (even more annoying) like the past 3 years or so, and again for a few weeks to a few months after #1 trailer (hopefully sooner), i might as well go on GTA IV, UC3 and GT5 until R* finally reopen the doors of GTA V info and this time more of it. If R* wants to get more sales in the year, then earlier than E3 would better for R* shareholders and themselves. However it seems to be a golden rule for this one publisher to not cross market anything. I find it a little insulting as it insinuates we are not smart enough or capable enough to think or want more than one game. Look at the other big guys, this is a R* trait. Conspiracy theories, using one game to market another and crying about "lack of info" like spoiled children and all sorts of other nonsense. And if Rockstar did release something new now, the same people would be whining again in a months time. Look. It's simple. There are no ulterior motives, they are not being lazy, it's not that they don't care and they certainly are not being selfish. They are just hard at work developing GTA:V, but aren't ready to tell us anything yet. All you have to do is have patience and wait. Let Rockstar do their job and it'll be here when it's here. There's absolutely no point driving yourselves into a frenzy, because it will have zero effect on anyone or anything. Learn to be cool and just chill. It's easy. Peace. This is crazy - this is selfish! The trouble is, he just asked his question in the wrong place - on this forum and of course he got his butt kicked. Some answers were reasonable. Underlying the many responses that Rockstar does not want to even slighty disturb the MP3 marketing machine -- to me that implies a serious Rockstar and TTWO boardroom concern that MP3 is a big gamble, a possible financial disaster, and they are terrified to rock that boat. For this whole period starting around October 2011 and going through the time when Rockstar finally releases GTAV and any derivative moneymaking products tied to it, a possibly more general question to ask is, what are they thinking? Are they super smart marketers, are they incompetent, are they selfish, are they locked down by internal financial analysts trying to goose the stock price at the right time so insiders can cash out (see the TTWO stock behavior in the week before and after 2 November 2011)? What is going on? Who is afraid of getting fired? This flash-in-the-pan trailer, beautiful and incredible as it was, and then dead silence for N months afterward, does not seem like a rational marketing plan. ...meanwhile, we are all stuck here with each other. /warning ahead - partial sarcasm/ Without any new info, all of us pathetic losers who are still here are talking and listening to each other, trying to create topics out of thin air, reminiscing, prophesying, fantasizing, crying, beating our heads against the wall, ranting and throwing sh*t at each other ... this forum has become a virtual insane asylum. Although Max Payne 3 is a much less anticipated game, they don't want another one of their creations to take away from profits made from this one. I don't like it either, but if people really don't give two sh*ts about Max Payne 3 in the first place, it'll be their loss and their gonna have to answer to their parent company and to the shareholders for their f*ckup. It's gonna be a f*ckup, but not a lethal one. They'll just decide that the franchise more worthwhile is Grand Theft Auto. What we do have to fear however is a financial collapse of T2 Interactive and a takeover by EA or Activision. We're all extremely concerned about the effects of annualization. R* or what incarnation of it would get 100 more monkeys with 100 more typewriters. The way it is currently run and marketed is better for a smaller company IMO focused on a single project. When I watch the trailers, I switch off. It's just all slow motion sequences of Max jumping backwards and shooting - I got over "bullet time" back with Enter The Matrix. I know people keep putting it down as a boring corridor shooter but there's seriously not much else happening in the trailers... it's all talk but not much happening. But lets hope V gets released soon. For some reason I'm going to miss IV and EFLC when V gets released. IV+EFLC beats any other game in existence, now matter how old the game is, it beats games like Mass Effect, CoD and any other game Just one thing, and it might be nothing but on R* homepage of FEATURED (not shouting), the games go like this RDR, GTA V, MP3. Now like i said it could be nothing, but what if GTA V is released before MP3.
