TheTrikstar
So guys, I'm looking for a Gaming Desktop that can run: GTA IV(With MP), SA-MP, Skyrim, WoW, Star Wars The one republic, Minecraft and a couple more.... I want to play multi-player games very smoothly. I picked this one and its in my price Range , http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/desktops/36...-predator-g5900 I've seen some reviews but I was wondering if you have any thoughts. Thank You
Ryan
The CPU is alright, but the GPU isn't that great. You'd probably be better off just buying the parts and building your own PC.

I've been told this many times.. I'm scared of buying all the parts and not knowing what to do I know there is help on the web but I have that feeling. Exxon
Here in Holland we have Alternate, if I make a custom build there, they'll put it together for 55 extra Any sites that do the same?
Wolf68k
I do know there are sites like what Exxon is talking about in the UK, I just don't know what all there is. I did however find this one: http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/ If you work it right you can get this one http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/weekly_sales_III/ down to close what that Acer is with Win7 Home included, and it'll still be better than the Acer. yoječ
If you want a gaming rig Windows is your best option, sadly.
Wolf68k
I know this will start to make this topic go off topic but then it is your topic so it's up to you if you want to continue it here or create a new topic. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way.... What OS? Do you know what the BSOD says or are you seeing it then the system restarts? You can look in the Event Viewer to see what they were as well. Look in C:\Windows\minidump Find all or at the very least the latest dump files and zip them then upload them some place and give me the link. I'll run it/them through the debugger and hopefully come up with some insight to the problem. In the mean time the first thing, no matter what the problem might actually be, I would suggest a system cleaning; virus and spyware scans, registry cleaning, chkdsk and defrag. In this case I would also add running memtest for at least 3 Passes to see if any errors come up. If you would like more details to these steps just ask, I'll include the usual steps I give as well as links to suggested programs to use...more so with memtest. Stinky12
I've seen the Acer Predator first hand when I was at Computex. It looks aggressive at a distance, then it becomes cheap and tacky once you get near it. The design seems to attract PC gaming wannabies who thinks the exterior is more important to a gaming computer. Much like those who think placing sponsor stickers on their cars, automatically makes their car go extremely fast. Build your own and you get a lot better system than the Predator. Plus you'll learn a thing or two as how your PC works.

anus
I highly recommend you buying the parts and then either putting it together yourself or get a friend to do it for you. Rebel
I would just like to say, as a first time builder of a PC of only a couple weeks ago its really worth the effort of doing it yourself. Not only will you be learning a skill for life - especially if its an interest. Its really not that hard at all. The Motherboard manual is basically all you'll need to look at when plugging in components. They are very easy to read and understand and the CPU also comes with a great manual. The only issue I remember having is getting my motherboard screws in since I was a little shaky and took me a little while to figure out which screw to use All motherboards these days basically have a lot of things printed on them if you aren't sure what it is. You'll not need one of those static bands - just remember to touch the metal of the new case or your sisters old one while building. Ryan posted a great 3 step video on how to set up and build a PC I'd take a look at that. The only hard part is probably deciding where you want the wires to go once everything is in place.
