Great combo to get. So much you can do with them too.

Ah, its a hit or miss. the car miss fires and does indeed run rough. That engine, would be sweet and its so cheap. This could be a easy fix and steal or it could be a terrible trap that I get stuck with. I'm trying to decide to buy it or not.

The guy knows my brother willing to give it to us for $2400 bucks. We're trying to decide what to do. Could be an awesome deal or it could be a money pit.

For 2400 bucks, it's worth it, even if it runs like sh*t. It's worth more than that in parts. Buy it, replace the coil packs, and go from there. If it doesn't work out, you can always part it out and make more than your money back. Plenty of auto people are always looking for sh*t for a 6 speed swap. And everyone wants an LS1, even if it was pretty rough.

SAAB 900i 1986 model for only "1500" $ which is dirt cheap for such a mint thing!

Hahaa! Subaru XT 750€!

No clue about in what condition it is, but doesnt look too bad.

1,8 Turbo 4WD, and ugly as can get! devil.gif

Definitely one of the bizarre-st creations of the 80's. You know if i happened to have a spare 750 i'd call to ask more about it. biggrin.gif

Not that I like it, I swear!

The XT may be ugly, but they got the concept right with the SVX.

That XT may be not the most beautiful car on the planet, but it's surely standing out from exactly the same looking VWs, Skodas and Audis.

I know a guy with a couple of XT's. Been inside one of them and it was really cool. Like some kind of 80's sci-fi movie in there.

I have seen this one up on COPART today.

I actually know a little bit about the history of the car as it belongs to a member of a MB forum I frequent. its a silver w124 320 Cabriolet and is a victim of Hurricane Sandy. The car was flooded up to the windshield and written off by the insurer for over $12,000. It is dried out and up for auction with a sale date of December 4th. Current bid $200.

$12,00 agreed value for that is truly insane. That's £2,000 tops in this neck of the woods. You can get a full-blown, utterly mint 500E for bout £6,000.

I dunno. Blue book value is about $9000 and he has restoration receipts for 8k. I think he did alright out of it certainly. I doubt very much you could get a mint E320 cabriolet in the UK for 2k. A shoddy coupe maybe? But, I'm not really up to speed on the Uk market right now.

Your right, the otherwise neat-looking one I'd seen up for £2,500 was crash-damaged, so disregard. Most are floating around the £5-7k mark which still makes $12k agreed value a bit steep.

Some used car dealership started selling a 1985-ish Audi 80, replacing the early '90s Dodge Caravan that was in that spot for roughly three years. I couldn't get a picture, so I substituted with a Wikipedia picture. It looked like this, but in beige:

Also, a scrapyard on my road has been trying to sell an early '80s Jaguar XJS since I lived there, but that's not really "today I saw it" worthy.

My uncle had one of these in Gold in 1998. Replaced it in 2000 with a 1994 Audi 100 (5000 in America)

Your thoughts on this?...

I've seen another Capella driving around the town, and I want to make an offer but can't help but think that's rude. I don't even know where he lives - I'm guessing somewhere around town...

Kind of odd drivetain would throw me off. Most old mazda fans seem to be into the rotary stuff. A 2 liter piston/auto combination doesn't seem very desirable (and possibly no more reliable than the equivalent 12a car).

What your saying, is that you wouldn't buy it?

Basically, what he means is the engine is a wankel engine, which is what Mazda cars often use. Its kind of in the shape of a triangle and is moving in a circular motion to power the car.

It's not a wankel. That's what's odd about it. While I'm not personally much of a rotary fan, any old mazdas that are desirable in the least are usually powered by one. They've got a huge following. Old 4 cylinder mazdas don't. And an old 4 banger mazda/auto is probably the least desirable combo out there.

Wish we got those. Last manual 7's we got were early 735i E32's. Only about 2000 or so came to the states.

These are very rare in Europe and inexistent in UK & Ireland. I don't think manual E38s were ever produced in the RHD form, just like the 725tds, 730d & 740d.

Lol, the dude has no idea he has a M60 under the hood and not the M62 (4.4) as he claims. I had one E38 manual 6gears, 7 years ago. smile.gif

This is better. It states it it needs some rust treatment and paint overhaul but you get ac-schnitzers and original 195k kms.
