Hi, so i've played AlanWake for time and it views were kinda freaking me out so i had to do them for IV biggrin.gif

With base model from cityscape i've transformed it into creepy horror scene behind LC.

Sugestions are allways welcome in certain way. Hope yall' like the idea and here is what i've done so far..

Info:

+Cityscape model for terrain

+Cliffs, Rocks and Cave ( big old abandoned mine with tombs/hidden chambers )

+Towns, Buildings ( with interiours ) & Props ( traffic signs etc. )

+Vegetation

+Some mysterie in that place

Looks pretty cool so far, I like the whole Alan Wake atmosphere (from the northwest myself) so interested in seeing how this turns out.

Good luck icon14.gif

I'm very interested in a map based on Alan Wake, but for God's sake ... finish one project before you start another!

Thx and this might not be the whole map for it yet.. If u look closer u see the road going to right as a bridge >

Finish what? Red Dead Redemption is to big to do so, i'm skipping that.. I may do Red Dead Desert remake later with a part of Red Dead Redemption for LC.

But i'm not that intrested in doing verry big projects anymore, i'm only will get bored by it. As for Maple Valley i pretty fine by how it is for now smile.gif

You should play AW more to get some more inspiration.

Sure, not done yet and i really want to recreate some scene's of it.. Also use house models from AW, so yea not bad idea tounge.gif

This looks cool so far, I think it'd be cool to have a map mod from Alan Wake in IV.

Are the mountains going to be covered with trees like in Alan Wake?

Offcourse but i want to have some good pine trees like those from this picture.. IV's aren't that good.

You're right, those look a lot more higher quality than IV's. It seems like it'd be a lot of work to convert all of those trees from another game to IV though.

you are still working on the map?

you should be working on the vegetation.

That is the hardest part of all of it.

You will get more than 100,000 polys for just the trees if you want to cover all of it.

dre still pretty good, hey man where u got plug.in for this CS?

thx & what plugin? fbx? you can find it at autodesk plugins site.. or normally it install itself after u have registered your version of cs smile.gif

you are still working on the map?

vegetation is the easyiest part for me, i will get it done after i've modelled further my cave and exported the map with buildings.

Looks pretty bad. Rocks should be way more pointy and sharp...

i'm not DONE yet, but at least i can make caves now biggrin.gif it's just a matter of time to put it in and smoothing..

Instead of start another project improve and fix bugs of your previous project .

Oh yeah, speaking of that, there are some invisible vegetation on the Red Dead Desert, I know because I have collided with some, not many though.

That missing veg are cactuses, don't know why their don't render and some do.. probably by lods

I'm at the last point of making details to map this days than import to game, by tomorow or dayafter i show what i've created as for early BETA

after this step i start to use trainer ingame with Carrythxd and put some mysterie behind it.. Have created some good places here and there tounge.gif

^ How'se that?

I think it looks awesome and is quite realistic, if you don't mind the sharp and hanging rocks wink.gif

But Stilldre, if you need any beta testers I'm completely free inlove.gif

Looks OK, but damn unrealistic.

It's a game, want realism? Go outside biggrin.gif

Triple Penetration

The roads don't fit the environment, the building textures are TILED (I could make it bold and with bigger font for heavier emphasis, but w/e), and along all that, textures are pixelated. It's like models from a 2001 game would be mixed with textures from 2004.

It does not meet IV's standards. Not by detail or realism.

Looks good! But before doing anything else you should cover all open areas with trees. But of course it is you decision! smile.gif
