I'm with Attorney General & DOOM - I've always respected Romo's game and his ability to make plays on the run. I shake my head at Dallas fans who trash the dude. He wasn't the main issue. And from what I've seen, the Cowboys have addressed those issues.

I'm still ticked off at Wednesday's loss, but hopefully it was a wakeup call. I'm nervous as f*** about the secondary.

You Cowgirls can root for Toni all you want, I'm still chantin' for the Q-Man.  cool.gif

srsly though, he's a Jekyll-and-Hyde passer, not quite elite I'd say. Like last year, you had the epic comeback against the 49ers, then a colossal meltdown against a weak Lions' secondary just two weeks later. (How embarrassing is it to be picked off by Booby Carpenter, lawl>?) He's certainly not terrible by any means, I just think he's too mistake-prone.

I was there, rooting for Quincy, as most games he was garbage but he did have games and made me think... just maybe. But comparing Tony Romo to Quincy Carter... Chad Hutchinson... Clint Stoerner... Drew Henson... Brad Johnson... Drew Bledsoe, finally we have someone who makes plays and actually makes us contenders every year.

Matthew Stafford is my fantasy QB (along with Phillip Rivers) and he had an absolute garbage game. I don't know if it's the first game and needs to dust cob-webs off, but jesus christ, he should've have had 5-6 interceptions in the first half a lone.

Three touchdowns in 6 minutes off of four turnovers....My god I love having a team with a good defence. I now have a super crush on JJ Watt.

I f*cking love this team.

Problems: The run game was inconsistent. Wade Smith our LG is f*cking garbage apparently and the right side apparently held up ok. Derek Newton was a 7th rounder last year and now he is our starter, that is a good value pick.

if Green Bay doesn't get their sh*t together it's going to be a long season for Aaron Rodgers.

49'ers are shaming them in front of their home fans.

Robert Griffin had an incredible debut stomping on the Saints in New Orleans.

I don't think anyone really saw that coming.

but I can't wait for Manning to debut with the Broncos tonight, about one hour from now.

so far it's been a pretty nice week 1. and there haven't been too many bad calls by the referees yet.

No arguments there. I can't believe I had to root for a clutch win... over the Rams. Matt had better get it together before we're embarrassed on national TV. He has the best WR since Jerry Rice, he needs to stop trying so damn hard to make a big play.

Love Peyton. Absolutely kills me to see him not in a Colts uniform but I wish him all the best.

Would love if he could add another Superbowl ring to the one he's already got.

the Eagles won their game.

in case you missed it...

outstanding debut for Peyton.

great game in general. sweet INT at the end to seal the deal. when the game was over Troy Polamalu just ran straight for the locker room while everyone else stayed to shake hands. he was embarrassed at how the defense played. and now that Denver has routed the Steelers with relative ease all the Super Bowl talk has already started.

Ryan Clark is such an important piece of that Steelers defense. It's a real handicap for the Steelers when you have to play without your starting free safety each time you visit Mile High. You can tell just how important he is to that team by looking at their last two games and losses; they both have been in Denver. Not only was the Steeler defense missing Clark, which is enough, but they were also missing James Harrison. I'm not a Steelers fan and I'm not trying to make excuses for them and their performance. What I'm trying to say is, Peyton Manning can pick apart the best defenses, how do you think he will perform against a defense when you remove two of their best players?

Manning tore up that secondary and the front seven wasn't getting much pressure on No. 18. Great debut for him and, quite possibly, a big "I told you so" to all of the doubters after his neck injuries.

Which was coined by, of all people, a lazy ass player who has never done anything in the NFL, Vince "Just Winz" Young.

As if he was the key to them being awesome, not adding a good corner back but a backup quarterback who is terrible at his position. Jesus.

If the Bears keep Cutler upright, they're a force to be reckoned with. They finally have legit wideouts, Forte is a beast and the 'D' is rough. Packers better be ready - should be fun Thursday night.

Sanchez & the Jets looked good vs the Bills - let's see how they play vs the Steelers, who still have o-line issues.

Looked like vintage Peyton out there. RGIII - what can you say? Unreal.

What a wild first Sunday in the NFL - I love it!

Yeah, the Texans have to play the NFC North. I am very scared, very, scared. I hope Kareem Jackson can get his act together by the time he plays all these games, because three out of the four have good passing games.

I am almost thinking JJ Watt for DPOY. It's a bit early but 1.5 sacks and four passes defended and two of them leading to interceptions is just ridiculous.

That was a rough Sunday. I truly don't believe the Packers will play that way all season. They need to find a rhythm again and fast - their next game against the Bears game is in three days! Any weekend in which the Bears, Vikings and Lions win combined with a GB loss makes for a gloomy Monday here in WI.

It was a blast to watch RGIII perform so well, though.

Texans are a legit Super Bowl contender long as they avoid injuries to Schaub and Johnson. IMO, they're in the AFC championship last season with a healthy Schaub.

You guys made it pretty good chunk last season and playoffs with TJ Yates for christ sakes. Minus, Mario Williams, I think the Texans will be as good as they are last year. They have, arguably, the best RB and WR duo in the NFL and Wade Phillips knows how to coach a defense up.

Hopefully the Giants got the message and bring their A-game Sunday. Tampa's no walk in the park, and it's critical for NY to have a good first half to the season.

Thursday Night Football was pretty entertaining during the first half.

did anyone else see the trick play that Green Bay pulled off? fake field goal turns into a 30-yard TD run.

very slick.

the second half was pretty boring, unfortunately.

but Thursday Night is a big deal this year.

they've done it before obviously, but 2012 is the first year that the NFL has selected a Thursday night game for every week.

@El Diablo: Every week has a thursday night game now? Damn. i never noticed that. Pretty cool...

So the first week for the Seahawks was.... well it was interesting and almost had an awesome ending. I think we'll give the 'Boys a run for their money this sunday.

idk if you guys know though but when Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin left the game late with an injury what happened is he busted in his front teeth and put them though his bottom lip requiring 50 stitches lol... and he's still going to play this sunday and on top of that he was killing him self afterwards because he though he should have made that catch for the win.

Before I start I'll say this; I'm not a Giants fan, despite being born and raised in New York and my entire family being Giants fans. Some how, some way I became a Miami Dolphins fan. I will support the Giants when it comes down to it, but that is only because I've been to an umpteen number of their games. With that said, I will get to the point of my post. haha

Just got in from the Giants/Buccaneers game. It was a great game. It wasn't shaping up to be so great in the first half. Turnover-filled and injury-ridden, but ultimately the Giants won. It was my first game at Metlife Stadium after having seen dozens of games in old Giants Stadium, and I have to say, I didn't really like it. It's a great looking stadium, the technology is awesome, the stadium screens are fantastic, but that's not what Giants games were about. Giants Stadium, as opposed to Metlife Stadium, was louder and more raucous than this game. Defense chants didn't have to be spurred on by the video boards or players waving towels on the sidelines. Giants football is cold December games against the Philadelphia Eagles and the crowd noise is jarring. I was at a Giants game, but it didn't have the same atmosphere. It was too quiet; too refined, almost, for lack of a better word. I guess that's what happens when you move into a $1.6 billion stadium and win your fourth Vince Lombardi Trophy. Hmm...

Just thought I'd share that. Now, with that out of the way...

Surprisingly my Miami Dolphins won a game! I was expecting the team to be one of the worst in the league. I know it's still early in the season, but I did not expect them to win this game, let alone by 22 points and have Reggie Bush run for 172 yards and two touchdowns. That's a great sign for the team, but Tannehill's game was an even better sign. I hated that draft pick, but if he keeps playing like he did today I might warm up to him at quarterback. I didn't have the chance to watch the game, but looking at his stat line, it was a very good game. 18/30 passing for 200 yards, one touchdown and zero turnovers. He also added a rushing touchdown on three attempts for 14 yards. Very efficient. I can support that. Hopefully the kid keeps this going.

How 'bout the rest of your teams?

Wait until Stafford gets sacked ten times by Justin Smith and goes out for the year/throws five picks to Carlos Rogers and gets benched in favor of Kellen Moore, until Alex Smith burns our secondary for 500 yards, or until Patrick Willis ruthlessly mows down Kevin Smith and puts our only capable back out with a broken spine... all on national TV. GO LIONS!!!

Oh Eli, how I love 'ya.

Giants couldn't afford to go 0-2 with Carolina and Philly coming up. Tremendous comeback win. Kudos to Eli and Nicks, who's still hurting with that right foot. I liked Andre Brown's performance. I'd rather see him on the field than the rookie Wilson, who's still in the doghouse. What the f*** is up with the goal line offense? Every time they get down there, stupid sh*t always happens. And don't get me started on the hot garbage secondary - they're killing us. Fuehl better put the hammer to these idiots. Look at the schedule and the QBs they'll face. Can't expect Eli to pull out every game.

The NFL has a license to print money. I don't know why they're playing hardball with the real refs. These games are too critical to have these replacement refs screw them up. That offensive pass interference call in the Ravens/Eagle game was ridiculous.

Mmph, still wish Peyton was on my team, but good for him nonetheless for finding another team.

That in mind, I hope the Falcons crush the Broncos tonight haha.

that was one of the weirdest football games I've ever seen, and I've been watching football for like 20 years.

both teams were terrible in the first half but Atlanta wound up with the point off of turnovers. and then the second half was pretty much all Denver closing the gap to just 6 points.

and the officiating was god-awful. I mean it was hard to watch. and the action was stopped on almost every other play. the pass interference and holding calls were so inconsistent that the TV guys (John Gruden and Mike Tirico) were openly complaining about it while live on the air. they were just ripping the replacement refs and the NFL for most of the game.

Refs are a bit of annoying, I was expecting bad stuff to happen but I honestly didn't think it would get to me. Whoever is handling the business side on the NFL's behalf has been f*cking up as of the past few years.... Goodell and his goons.

Atlanta was playing good defense, and Peyton was playing horrible quarterback the first half. I was feeling that Manning magic at the end of the game there, but the defense couldn't pull through at the end... and not to knock the defense either, the defense stopped Atlanta 2 times within' 8 minutes of the 4th but Bronco's couldn't capitalize.
