abottig
Tebow to the Jets has been confirmed. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id...ade-second-time The Broncos also gave a 2012 7th round pick in return for a 2012 4th and 6th round pick from the Jets. And as I said earlier, this is a stupid trade for the Jets who should be signing weapons for Sanchez rather than bulking up on mediocre quarterbacks. Even ScareCro (Antonio Cromartie) is against this move. http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/post/_/id/...-help-not-rival As a Patriots fan, this is the best news ever. The Jets are an absolute joke. They didn't even read Tebow's contract before the trade, resulting in a brief hold-up. The AFC East, once again, goes through the Pats. And by the way, the Pats have done an excellent job re-stocking their team. I feel like the luckiest football fan in the world these past 10+ years. El Dildo
I think Tebow's best chance for long-term success - regardless of what city he's in - is to be converted into a running back and/or wideout. his most natural strengths as an athlete are best suited to plowing through people while protecting the pigskin. when you see him keep the ball and go on a running play it's obvious as daylight. he can take hits, he's tough, he's thick, he's pretty hard to take down, he has great field awareness and anticipation, and he's fast enough to find those holes in the D line to the endzone. assuming he can catch a ball at least half as well as he can throw it I don't see why someone wouldn't want to implement him into an offense as a position player. Funktipus
Same ol' Jets..... When has the two QB system ever worked in the NFL, especially QBs with such different styles? Giants, Steelers, Pats, 49ers, Packers - with them it's one QB & one philosophy. So if Sanchez is on a roll, does Tebow still come in on 3rd down? Who runs the two minute offense? sh*t, if Sanchez struggles in training camp, those brain-dead Tebowmaniacs will call for his head. I do feel bad for Sanchez. The front office cut his legs out from under him. Let's be honest, Tebow didn't come here to be a backup. What backup QB has his own jet? I've been listening to WFAN all day. The fans in favor of this have selective amnesia. Everyone's forgotten the plays Sanchez made to get the Jets to back-to-back AFC championships. The Jets gave Sanchez a 4yr-$50mil contract, and then they created a QB controversy ON PURPOSE!!! You can't make this sh*t up! WFAN's Joe Beningo had a great line - the guys laughing the most are Bill Belichick & John Mara. Capricornus
So the Jets are just a bunch of attention whores I suppose. I will attempt to say this without sound stupid or mundane. I think it is safe to say that the Jets organization just don't trust Mark Sanchez nearly as much as they say they do. Every since they gave him that contract extension, I always thought that that was only done to end the speculation of Peyton Manning going to the Jets. Bringing Tebow in, they expect that Mark is going to screw up mid season, thus benching him and having Tebow start. Or it could be used to make Mark Sanchez mad, yet an accurate QB that will play well. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Tim Tebow is a great guy and I like him as a person. However, even though Mark Sanchez is not really a great QB, he is better than Tebow. interpolfan11
Brandon Jacobs signed with the 49ers. This is not a good signing since the 49ers already had two capable running backs with Gore and Hunter. The last thing they needed is Brandon Jacobs, an overrated power back who averaged a paltry 3.8YPC last year. Not to mention the fact that power backs seem to grow on trees in the NFL. Jonesizzle
Jacobs, being a pure brute back, will complement Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter nicely. NY Jets dug themselves a hole in trading for Tebow. Supposedly Tim Tebow had control of where he wanted to end up and you see where he is now, will be another interesting NFL season. I like the idea of Bill Parcells coming back to coach the Saints, him taking them to the Super Bowl... even winning it, would be epic and a nice cap on a Hall of Fame career. He has the right team and a awesome (but disgruntled) Quarterback. Supposedly Tim Tebow had control of where he wanted to end up and you see where he is now, will be another interesting NFL season. Tebow and Rex Ryan have the same agent, and supposedly, the Tim & Rex were in contact. Great. It shows you the Jets have lost confidence in Sanchez. But now they have to create a new offensive scheme, because Tebow can't run a traditional offense. The way Rex is talking, the Jets will wow the NFL next season running the wildcat. Does he not realize the wildcat's being phased out? Plus, Tebow ran a read-option offense at Denver, not the wildcat. I'm sure Bill Belichick is crapping in his pants, lol. It's going to a fun season - can you imagine the headlines if Sanchez gets off to a poor start - yikes! tubbs51
Nike reveals new Unis including the drastically changed Seahawks Uniform. http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/story/_/id/7...st-nfl-uniforms As the presumed resident Hawks fan, I'm part of the minority. I love the new uniforms. My only gripe is that the Seafoam Green is a bit overwhelming with the Darker blue uniforms. But the alternate with the blue pants is slick as hell. Xboxless
I am really excited for this next year. I think we will do well overall. Our record may lack because we have a ridiculously hard one. NFC North I think and all the firsts of the afc. Our defense will probably regress statistically because we are playing the packers, the lions and the patriots but in reality our defense will be better. The defense will have a full offseason to practice. Go Texans! Well at least you guys play in a weak division, and I think a couple of the games are easier than they appear to be since I personally think the Ravens and Jets are on the downswing this year. And yeah, you guys are pretty much loaded as far as talent goes. I don't think the loss of Mario Williams will hurt that much since you had one of the top defenses in the league anyways. And it was probably a good move to get rid of DeMeco Ryans, since he struggled in Phillips' 3-4 scheme. Speaking of Phillips, I wish the Chargers would have signed him after he got fired by the Cowboys. The guy is a phenomenal defensive coordinator and our defense has never quite been the same since he left. B Rob
Is it me or does anyone else think that Andrew Luck is not going to be the next great HOF QB like most experts are predicting. And I can't wait for Week 6 when the Chargers play against the Broncos. Stephen Cooper, our key to beating Peyton Manning in previous seasons, is no longer with the team, but I'm still confident that we can pull out a win as long as our front seven can generate a little bit of pressure and our offensive line can keep Rivers upright against Miller and Dummerville. Xboxless
I think technically the Texans have 4 but their will be a few eyes watching the Texans thanksgiving game with Detroit. Jonesizzle
They won the Super Bowl... the biggest break in the NFL. I find it humorous that people are actually believing that RGIII is a better prospect than Luck. People have been ranting and raving about Luck for two years now, he was considered the first pick of last years draft and this seasons slogan for the sh*tty teams was "Suck for Luck". RGIII is a intriguing, athletic and promising prospect, but I think he is astronomically levels behind Luck as far as smarts for the game go and his pedigree. Seriously reminds me of Peyton Manning as a prospect being debated with Ryan Leaf as the first pick. Not in any way comparing Griffith is Leaf. Funktipus
It takes at least 3-5 years to find out if a dude can play QB at the NFL level(the hardest position in sports, IMO). But RGIII won't have that luxury. The pressure on him to win now in D.C. will be enormous.
