The Fernando Drug Cartel

The Fernando Drug Cartel was founded in early days of the 1960’s after the Los Miguels Cartel started to recruit military personnel as members, earning big numbers, doing business with the UDV and other Loyalist radicals of Northern Ireland and trafficking drugs from Colombia to the Japanese crime families.

It was during this time that Romero Fernando, an ex-Federal of the Mexican army was initiated into the Cartel.

During the 1970’s, Romero had already been picked to branch off a group from the Los Miguels, this in turn would end in a bloody feud between the L. Miguels’ boss, Esteban Miguel, a ruthless, albeit mentally weak, drugs baron. Seeing that Romero’s small, but growing organisation was gaining big players in the underworld, Esteban thought it was high time to wipe out the small Los Miguel puppet branch from history and to take the drugs and money for himself. Upon hearing this, Fernando had recruited a few of his old Federal team-mates, Enrique Ramón, Antonio de Marcus, Jesus Fanguaños and Hector Lobos. All of whom had served in the Mexican army for more than 30 years each. Unbeknownst to Esteban, many of his own members had defected and rejoined the growing Fernando Cartel, unimpressed by Esteban’s leadership and business tactics. A few months passed and Esteban had declared war on the new Fernando Cartel, the long months passed, slowly, more and more members had been mown down by gunfire, knife attacks and explosions.

Eventually, Esteban’s declining health had forced him to rethink the bad-blood between the two drug lords, calling upon a peace meeting, Esteban conspired with his closest officers, who in fact, had already defected to the Fernando Cartel early on in the war, and had planned to assassinate Romero as he made his way to the gathering spot.

Upon this plan was whispered within Fernando’s ears, he had went along, however as Esteban stepped from his car, he was met by a group of six, them six being Romero and five of Esteban’s high ranking members. Knowing of his upcoming fate, Esteban had made his peace with Romero, before his body was med by the shower of lead, filling his carcass with searing hot metal. Leaving his corpse for the police to find, he sent the messaged to the other cartels of Columbia and Mexico that the Fernando Cartel was now the largest and powerful crime syndicate, taking the Miguels’ recourses and murdering its few loyal members.

In 2004, Romero had already taken over the Columbian trafficking circuits and half of the European, becoming a key figure head in many known criminal and terrorist organisations, from dealing money for weapons, vice versa and drugs such as cocaine and ecstasy.

By the end of 2008, Fernando had begun to make his move upon America, dealing in Miami, Los Angeles and California. During this, however, the cartel had eventually, and inevitably, bumped heads with the Russian mafia, to bring a name to the clan, the Gorgorovic bretva/brotherhood. This bad-blood had escalated into an all out war when members of the GBA boss, Igor Putlovnya, (Gorgorovic Brotherhood Association) had a dealer of the Fernando cartel murdered, as well as stealing the cocaine, heroin and ecstasy in the process,

sending a clear message to Romero that they weren’t going to play nice. In retaliation, Romero had three of Putlovnya’s highest ranking gangsters kidnapped and held in a storage facility in north California.

After three days of torture, Romero had personally hacked one of them, Victor Blatva, to pieces with a fire axe, forcing the other two, Dmitri Furtleva and Stepan Kirilovsky, to watch. He then continued to video himself as he hung Dmitri by the throat with razor wire, causing him to gargle and choke on his blood. Romero, finally, had placed Stepan’s head within a vice and slowly turned it, videoing himself as he interrogated the remaining gangster for Igor’s whereabouts. When the gangster had spat thick blood into his face, the Mexican had continued to pummel the now dead Russian with an industrial hammer.

After a few weeks, Fernando had the tape sent to a low-ranking member of the GBA. Igor, briefly watching as his most trusted associates where brutally killed. The Russian king had attempted to escape from the Americas, hoping to run his gangland from his mother-country, however, as the short man, dressed in a pale blue suit had stepped from his limousine, a group of four police officers had approached him, whispering in Russian, they drew their pistols, firing repeatedly at the shocked mafia boss, killing him almost instantly, shredding his body into a blood stained mess, killing his driver and bodyguard as well. Two days before this event, Romero had made a deal with the boss of bosses of the Vory v Zakone council, Nikolai Dantevic, if the Fernando Cartel had dealt the Russian mafia cocaine and weapons, they would pay handsomely and end the war between the Mexicans and the GBA.

Now, the year is 2012, and Romero Fernando has moved into the lair of Liberty City. Making his business deals from the Airports to the docks, paying off the police, sailors, dock workers, club owners, just about anyone, for heads up on cargos, raids, current gangland members, etc.
