Depleted/Abandoned places in So-Cal

I got this idea from the theme park thread when someone mentioned Firefly Island. I'm not too familiar with the So-Cal geography, but are there any depleted/abandoned places R* could use in GTA V?

I really enjoy them, because they give off a creepy vibe like the abandoned Sprunk factory in GTA IV.

I also don't know anything about SoCal, dude, but that would be amazing for some missions, as it was for the last IV mission.

From what we saw in the trailer, the economy will be f*cked up. That maybe means that there will be some abandoned buildings that were in construction process.

And we all love myths and possible easter eggs inside these places. R* loves that kind of thing too, so that's very likely that they will introduce more of these in the game.

I would love to see desolate buildings. I loved the creepy feeling you got in there and was awesome for shootouts on multiplayer.

I'm expecting to see a mix of abandoned urban buildings like we seen in IV and abandoned shacks and whatnot like we seen in SA's countryside and desert. I loved all that stuff in both games, and I'm sure R* will be looking to give us the best of both worlds.

Maybe abandoned, urban type shops on the outskirts of town, turned into a skate park or even maybe a cartel or a small club.

Both the abandoned casino and mansion in IV made for great hide outs.

I'd love to see something similar in V. That'd be great!

An abandoned military base would give off an eerie vibe. Something similar to Area 51 where at the entrance it says do not enter. Hear creepy noises at the base, and perhaps an airplane engine.

Check out this short film here. It's about the recession's effect on homeowners, mainly centering around californian suburbs. Hopefully, we'll get whole areas like this in the game, considering it's supposedly one of the main themes. STD Construction Company and all...

Here's the movie:

This might also give a slight idea how the whole abandoned theme can mix with SoCal

I'd love it if you could turn all those abandoned factories into gang bases. It'd be awesome to have a six star wanted level run into what looks like and abandoned building and then BAM! Six guys with AK-47's gun down anyone in the entrance and a bunch of guys are firing down at the police from the roof, cars start coming out of hidden cubby holes and a helicopter takes off of the roof of the factory.

I was watching an AVGN (Angry Video Game Nerd) video recently and they are travelled to Los Angeles to make a movie. Here's a short update on their location scouting, in which they managed to get into an abandoned hospital. Cool video, worth the watch:

I'd also love to have such locations in GTA V.
