I wish that they would have never release that first trailer. I don't hate MP3 for "delaying " gta info, I hate whiners who blame a game that looks amazing for the delay of a game with no release date...

Trailers for GTA IV also came every 4 months. Now from November the 2nd until February 15th is indeed 4 months, but well, the game is in developement, not about to be released.

What people don't seem to remember is that Max Payne 3 was originally supposed to be released in 2009, so Rockstar has been working on it for a while now. You can't expect them to throw years of work and millions of dollars in the bin just to appease this fanbase. And then there's the fact that Rockstar North, the main developers of GTA V, aren't helping with MP3, so development of GTA V is thus unaffected.

 

Not only that, but some of you guys are wishing that MP3 will bomb so we can get more information on V.

That doesn't even make sense. If MP3 sells like a chocolate teapot, then we'd have to wait even longer for GTA V info, because Rockstar would be pouring even more marketing into Max to try and get more sales.

Think about it this way: Max Payne 3 will be the first time we get to sample the engine that GTA V will probably be using. That alone, at least on the PC side, would probably be enough to push me to get it.

So I check Rockstar newswire almost every day since 4 months for some new GTA V info and all I get is another bullsh*t about MP3 and Im like are you serious!? Thousands of fans wants to know something about new GTA and you still think its cool to post news about your Max Payne bullsh*t and when they said in A&A "maybe we will post something about GTA V in next few months" this game is really f*cking annoying me now...

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on whether or not they want a certain game. The choice is completely up to them.

 

Why this is different all of a sudden is because MP3 is "holding back" the "most anticipated game of the year" according to some users' opnions.

 

IMO, I did not fully enjoy the Max Payne series; felt boring to me, but that's my opinion. Do I hate MP3? NO! Do I hate the fact that it is "holding back GTA V?" Again, NO! I've waited this long haven't I?

 

If P3 is as good as everyone says it will, I might reconsider not getting it.

Not really, I'm fusrated that there is no info but I'm not going to hate what looks like a good quality game over it. Maybe if they were delaying info for a HD PS3/360 release of State of Emergency then I would be pissed but clearly they aren't doing it.

At first while it looked boring I didnt mind Max Payne 3, infact I welcomed it.

It looks very generic and boring, the game seems to be just walling down hallways shooting guys over and over. The Gore isnt even that good. Bad guys fly back unrealistically and a big glob of blood comes shooting out unrealistically, exactly like MAx Payne 2. I see no improvements. f*ck Max Gayne 3.

Max payne will always have a relation to GTA because of the parent company. Different studios creating it? Don't matter. Different staff? don't matter. People see the R* logo and forget they have like 12 studios. That is in theory 12 games that can be worked on at once.

 

MP3 looks fun. GTA WONT COME ANY QUICKER. Ever since IV, max payne was gonne be before V. End of. If MP is in high demand, GTA will come. If it's not, R* will keep flogging the dead horse, to sell it, and V will wait.

 

In other words either check out MP3 or shut the f*ck up and grow up. GTA is my favourite game, sure, but it's not theonly one. My favourite bands consist of Disturbed, but the doesn't mean i won't go and listen to Green Day, just becaue i want a new disturbed album.

 

"F*ck max payne" is an attitude by spoilt kids. 12 year olds who are GIVEN the game by their mummy and daddy. Those of us that work, and put money aside for a game, after paying bills and buying food - you wont get them saying that, and if you do then they're just greedy.

Yeah, but at least they wouldn't be losing lots of money and jobs. Maybe they will sell it more if it's successful. So? That's how every other company works. I don't see why rockstar should continually pander to us when they have other fan bases to please. People on here need to learn that we're not the only fans out there, nor are we the most important. I'm as excited for V as everyone else here, but I also know how business works, and it doesn't work when you focus on only one crowd. That's why disney films like the lion king, toy story 3, and others are well written and also contain adult messages. Because when you aim entirely for kids you get adam sandler films and A Troll in Central Park, and they outgrow those pretty fast. Catering to one fan base only limits how much money a company can make. Rockstar understands this. They also understand that if they only make GTA games, one day they might mess up, and they'll have no other franchises to fall back on, which is why they funded MP3, Red Dead Redemption, and L.A Noire and such.

I guess all the self entitled whiners have to hate something. What if there was no MP3? What would be the reason then? Before all thee theories came out saying it was "blocking" GTA everyone hated R* because they couldn't get their precious info. Why can't you just wait and find something else to do in the meantime? I'm going o be playing MP3, Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, NFS the Run and many other games so my time won't be wasted birching about a game that hasn't even gotten a hint of a release date.

In that timeframe between Max Payne 2 and now the GTA series has had eight games (San Andreas, GTA Advance, Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, GTA IV, The Lost and Damned, Chinatown Wars, and The Ballad of Gay Tony) and before you argue "Bleeh! Expansion don't count!" well Max Payne hasn't so much has gotten an expansion since 2 came out, just a movie that most fans didn't like that much. As much as I want GTA V I want a new Max Payne, fans of Max Payne want a new one, it doesn't matter how big GTAs supposed fanbase is (and it really isn't that big when you equate out those who pick these games up casually, those who just go with what's popular, and whiny fourteen year olds who buy these games just to beat old women with golf clubs) whining about 2 years without a new GTA to play and toss aside as most gamers do (let's face it most people will only play for ten hours and whine for GTA VI a few days after the game comes out on the forum) is just pathetic compared to the wait Payne fans have suffered, if Niko can wait years to exact his revenge after being betrayed then you can wait a little while for a new GTA.
