I'm poor so chances of me getting a new ps3 straight away are slim, god I've lost a few good PSN accounts too, I'll never remember the email addresses / passwords

My PS3 also suffers from the YLOD. I've used the fix video on Youtube to fix it though. It's not that hard (as long as you closely follow directions). I'm very noobish in taking things apart too.

I just saw those videos that mmmfloorpie posted, AJ, I think you should give it a try. You only need a heat gun, some thermal compound, and screwdrives. Seems pretty straightforward.

it's a very straight forward procedure, just make sure you ground yourself by touching something metal before starting. You don't want to destroy any parts with static electricity. As long as you take it slow and dont rush it, dont lose any pieces, you will be fine.

When I have to take apart my PS3 to "reflow" it, I find it helps if I get ziploc baggies and put the screws from each section into them with a label that says what section they are from. So all of the outer case screws go in a bag. All the power supply screws go in a bag... And so forth.

 

I also follow that video every time (even though I've done it 5 times now) just to be safe.

I haven't looked into it but I know you will need to buy a pal ps3, american ones are ntsc.. or ntcs I can't remember....to bypass the psn thing, just use a proxy server. You can pay for a low ping one or you can find free ones online. When you go to the network settings instead of easy just use custom set up and it will eventually ask you for one (after the ip settings).

I think 4 vs 1 or 4 vs 2 is ridiculous and the game should be re-scheduled. But if the situation is 4 vs 3, I think we should leave it up to the teams to decide whether to go on playing or not. Personally, I think the game should just be played because of 2 reasons.

 

1) It would be unfair to everyone that showed up to play on that day and time. We all have other things that we can do and would be a waste of time for all.

 

2) The team that only has the 3 players should be penalized for not having the whole team show up. There has to be a certain amount of accountability to all this and if the team loses due to lack of numbers, then the player that didn't show should feel really really guilty

 

I also think that telling the team with 4 players to "lose" a player to make teams even is extremely unfair. The team with only 3 players should consider it a penalty and just play on. Just my opinion.

heres what you can do, say its a scheduled 4v4 and team a is missing a player they can either find someone (not already enrolled in the competition) and if they win, deduct a point...if they lose, then leave it be. The amount of deduction is upto you Alex

I'd hate to punish teams for missing players though, real life has a habit of throwing up surprises.

 

As it seems that this tournament has failed to get enough teams to join (only one GTAForum gang is part of this as a team) The event will have to adapt.

 

Here's what I'm thinking. Either we go with 7 teams, and one lucky team gets through to the semi's without playing a game.

or we change the tournament, from a winner stays in affair. (CnC - The Challenge)

 

CnC - The Challenge

 

One team is chosen randomly to start as The Team to Beat

Teams that are registered / available, then lay down the challenge.

 

For example Cosa Nostra is picked as The Team to Beat...... Team Ice Cream then gives them a time.

They play.... and if The Team to Beat wins, they and get 1 Victory to their tally and they remain as the Team to Beat... another team then gets to lay down the challenge, such as The Living Legends. However if Team Ice Cream wins, they become The Team to Beat.. and get 1 Victory to their tally. This event could go on until GTA V gets released, and it could also lead to teams, becoming mixed, however The Team to Beat would have to remain consistent (e.g. atleast 3 members listed).

Yea. Some players are losing interest for this game, including myself. Old players are sick of the game and new players have no respect at all for the true skill, they call you cheater instead and always quit games. The leaderboard is the only thing that keeps me playing CnC, which shouldn't be like that because most of the top players cheated to get there.

 

I think some teams may need a re-make due to losing players I'll support IV until V is out, and the events that are worth to be in, like this one. AJ's idea is good, or else we could play a 4 teams tournament instead of 8.

 

Also, on a side note... to those old gta friends that may be reading this; sorry if I delete some of you from my PSN buddylist. We could be in contact via e-mail or something lse (or add again when V comes out please ) I don't want to sound like a dick, I think most of you would agree. I just keep in my friend list those who I usually play with or willing to play in a near future. For some reason GTA doesn't like big friend-lists. That's all. <3

Sadly there is a general loss of interest, blame Battlefield 3 / MW3 and GTA being old and overplayed in general.

 

But....If you guys want to do this as 4 teams of 6 (Teams chosen by yourselves). And two semi-finals, then let's make that happen. I'm still really really keen to organise stuff like this, I love having that extra pressure in CnC, and having a team working together, is great.

 

I know it was always going to be an issue with regards to timezones and availabilities. Trying to get 8 teams together, was always going to be a big ask.

Hey AJ, I'm sorry for cancelling the event, I was ready to kill the f*** out people,LOL just kidding, hey you guys hit me up in PSN when playing in good games, but im talking about good games like 5v5 at least, every time I got on GTA I find a geek that always go to destroy my GV instead of chase me, the last one it was this lvl 10 noob named GTA_KING, I was the boss in the first game and the first thing this bitch did was destroy my GV, he didnt even try to chase me!!!!!!!, I was like " I better go back to COD before I start hating on this guy" its just sad. You should do an Event were you ask players to get on GTA at certain times over the weekends, I will be there if someone do it that way, just make sure to check the FC BARCELONA game schedule because if you do it at the same time of the game I will not make it , I think that would work perfect, just give start time, I think the most of us would be there.

Sure SKEEPPY, let's make CnC a weekly get together as like "Turf Wars" used to be on here. That's all I ever wanted was to get everyone online at the same time, for some great games.

Teams made on the night who shows plays. I can't be bothered with the whole signing up / application stuff.

Teams will be roughly based on teams entered here to begin with... BUT

 

Players should be fair. If you know your team is too good, then swap players in a weaker team please.Every team should have at least one noob.

Try to make this small event as balanced as possible.

If you mean my be that Fuga its not gta , IV keeps funny with good friends but i dont like ps3 much anymore getting bored etc bad servers im sure i wont play alot until V but soon i make facebook so we can stay in touch D:
