A J Posted February 24, 2012 Author Share Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) Dawkins is an excellent player, I'm sure he'd make a very decent captain, he should also try to get another experienced player involved. I suggest new players read the following tips below. (Taken from my first event). # Boss is always entitled to first weapon, some spawn locations may place crooks unavoidably on weapon spawns, if so be sure to use it. Keeping the boss alive is key to victory, if cops spawn close sacrifices should be made to give bosses as much time to get to safety as possible. Crooks should always pay attention to bosses with out microphones / communication skills to work out location of incoming cops(they will shoot in the cops location/direction),vehicles should always be brought to a boss, safely. Don't expect them to hop in though, most bosses prefer to drive themselves. The first 60 seconds of the match are most important to the crooks, get armed, get vehicles, eliminate cops. Always try and kill the driver if they come at you with drivebys # Crooks should always try to stick close to a boss, if you drift apart, the respawn can effect the boss, leaving him getting over-crowded by cops. Bosses should always try to get body armour, as it can mean the difference between life and death when escaping, to help stay alive, take advantage of the city, learn the short cuts, back streets and ramps, collect weapons and use appropriately, don't stand in the middle of the street, drops grenades if you are being pursued, don't jump out of your car if it goes on fire, look for a health pack instead, use interiors for cover, never stay in one place for too long. Swim if you must, but be sure to get out of the water as soon as you can. Remember experienced players will always know the getaway location, if you don't see them during the game, they are probably waiting armed and dangerous for your arrival. Most players are likely to give chase however. # Cops should always turn off sirens to begin, in a chase situation they can be useful to move traffic though. Cop car drivers always come armed with a combat shotgun, take advantage of this. Splitting up into multiple cars can be effective, but also sticking together with a single decent driver is a good tactic too. Use the map, if you spawn close it might be better to rush in, if the crooks have a decent headstart, it might be better to play with more precaution. Set-up road blocks, predict the route the crooks will take to escape, park the car in cover if you decide to go on foot, get a flat tyre look for a health pack. Use all the weapons on offer and not just your SMG, don't underestimate the value of grenades. # Don't drive straight into gun fire, , drive side to side, at angle and so forth, provide a distraction to the crooks and allow crooks on foot to move in, always try to surround bosses, so they have no where to run, work together as a team and don't go in one by one, play as a team and not individuals, multiple targets are a lot harder to kill. If you have a sniper rifle be sure to remain hidden using crouch, if you can't directly hit the boss, try to spot his getaway car and shoot the tires, or keep the target lined up to the drivers seat. Use helicopters, drop bombs from the sky. Remember you're free to play however you wish in this event, even camp if you feel the need. ---- I hope it helps. I guess my duties are to keep the scores, direct some traffic during the matches, and try to get everyone to show up? I'll do my best I guess. Considering the overwhelming skill level of the competitors in the tournament, I do have an appropriate name for our team..... The Underdogs. Try to make a team, if not possible I'll list you as another "crook for hire". EL FUGA's team might look very strong, but they are beatable. unless there hackers i know there beatable but both those players are just so nasty anyways i will try to put together a team this weekend. I usually don't use a mic but for you bro, I'll make an exception. I also have an "underdog" strategy against these powerful teams that just may work. I'll run it by you and the others for feedback before the tournament starts. Our chances are not good, but goddamnit we should try our best. By the way, do you have alot of experience playing cops and crooks? The reason why I ask is because anyone can be a great driver and a shooter, but if you don't have a the proper cops and crooks experience (having a detailed map knowledge of the ENTIRE Liberty City, knowing ALL the possible getaways positions, understanding your position on the map in relation to your teammates and the crooks/boss, predicting the movement of the boss by studying his behavior on the map, etc. etc.), without these experiences, it doesn't matter how good a driver/shooter you are, you're still gonna suck at cops and crooks. I was hoping to make the draw on March 1st, so that the first weekend of March, would see the first round / quarter finals being played. Like I said in the OP, if this event fails to work, it will be my last CnC event. If it's a success which is looking unlikely, I'd love to do another, more random team event like the first. That wouldn't be enough notice for people to prepare for the games and open up their schedule. Especially if a person is on a tropical vacation the first weekend of March. I wonder if anyone here will play cnc with pedestrians on high to see some hookers spawn. I know you can do that on single player. gotta luv gta aj!, take it easy man, we might just be good for a few teams, you gotta realize this isn't the most POPULAR game, but it is a very well programmed, and deep game. compared to most of the sh*t that's out there, like MW3. the competition releases sh*t and people buy it, marketing is a bitch. You can't play for both at the same time. lol. For that reason, I think it's a bad idea to captain two sides, of course you can encourage some friends to join and have a go. You have spoke about practice a lot, we'll have to wait and see, there will be an enough trouble just trying to get players together at the same time in the tournament itself, anyways we all know CnC, and if we practise against eachother, there won't be any surprises.
