Paper Mario
I've always had the "Couldn't connect to the multiplayer session, returning to single player" problem. My question is, how is the connection gonna work this time? I tried fixing my NAT but I can only get it on open. But my upstream banwidth gives a red colored *WARNING*. So I think that my upstream bandwidth isn't good. And I have no idea how to fix that. But I heard there are dedicated servers? I don't know exaclty what those are but read that they didn't have the problem with NAT settings and stuff. If GTA V will have same connection mode as GTA IV I will be super sad because I wouldn't be able to play the multipayer free-roam which I love to play. Ryder 556
The question isn't how the MP will work, it's what kind of connection you have. EDIT: Go here, do the test, and come back and tell us your up and down speed.
Chillzz01
It mostly all depends on your internet connection.
Flashify
That wasn't the major problem, this was: Driving along, music's blasting, "oh look there's there's that mother f*cking Orange guy, you go to run him over - everything went to plan. His blood is all over your bonnet, but when you take a look back, f*ck! - He's standing there, was never touched. On your screen you will have hit the player but on that player's screen you will have missed them. Obviously this s due to the connection between these two (or more) players but surely V will have a better online server to stop things like this from happening. I mean, imagine if you were playing Call of Duty (sorry to bring it into this forum, i'm embarrassed) and you hit someone with a Predator Missile and they didn't even die despite the fact you smacked them straight n the f*cking jaw, would tick you off, no? Another example (you can easily see this for yourself) is when you get in another players' vehicle and in your perspective they will be driving all over the f*cking place and it'll seem as if the vehicle hasn't even got IV's handling physics, whereas on the player that is driving's screen they are driving like a boss. I can think of so many other examples such as the damage of another players' vehicle being different on your screen compared to their's and so on... Hayze
They've had since IV to work on their network coding. They did better with RDR and they'll have practice with MP3 also. I'm sure by the time V comes out it will be pretty solid in comparison to what we would expect in a multiplayer game by now.

Hmm, I'm not sure if they'll fix that thing with "hitting someone with the car", because it wasn't fixed in RDR either. You could hit someone with a horse but then he was still standing... SGT. Johnson
@Flashify. THAT and so many other problems f*cked up MP. a) Doors/hood falling off randomly b) "indestructible" mailboxes/newspaper stands/lightposts c) AI glitch-running you over d) What happens on one screen doesn't necessarily happen on theirs (your example) e) SHOTGUN COPS!!! f) RANDOM, DISAPPEARING VEHICLES!!! I agree, MP3 will have good network coding implemented into rage thus gta V... i hope.

Hazelnot
Before I played IV on Multiplayer I thought SA-MP sync was bad.
