Did you like the physics engine that Gta 4 used, or did you prefer the old skool engine used in all the other games? bored.gif

I liked the GTA 4 physics but they were kida buggy. RAGE has improved over the years with RDR and MP3. Im sure that GTA V will have similar physics to 4 but greatly improved.

Is this a serious question? HELL NO I DON'T WANT THAT OLD PHYSICS ENGINE FROM THE III ERA. Even Saints Row has better physics than the III era games, at that's saying a lot.

Rockstar ditched the Renderware engine used in the GTA:III era games when EA bought up Criterion Software.

 

Rockstar didn't want to be in a position in which EA had any kind of hold over them. So they dropped the dated Renderware engine in favour of developing their propriety RAGE which in GTA:IV incorporated the open source Bullet physics engine and Euphoria system (which contains some physics elements to procedurally animate characters including the rag doll effects).

I imagine no one wants render ware back! And the physics most likely will be nowhere near what GTA IV's were. As you can see in red dead redemption the physics took a major update and I believe they will only get better. Instead of waddling around when your shot (like in GTA IV) the AI will most likely take a more solid, realistic stance and or drop quicker. Take a look at the death animations for Max Payne 3, it would probably be a good comparison.

 

In short GTA V will most likely use an upgraded euphoria physics engine. I can guarantee they won't be using a pre-generation physics/graphical engine. No one wants one either.

Yeah.. A silly poll to be honest! I mean who would choose GTA III era physics over GTA IV/RDR physics!!!! Anyway.. I voted for " GTA IV physics" because it were good in GTA IV.. and it will be improved in GTA V

I liked the suspension and damage from GTA 4. The handling of GTA SA was much better.

I think the OP means if we would prefer GTA IV physics (though obviously improved) or the physics of the GTA III era.

 

Since I don't believe in going backwards GTA IV physics tweaked all the way. Hopefully not too much, because I love driving in GTA IV. icon14.gif

Same here. I too loved the driving physics in GTA IV. They will, more than likely, improve on the Euphoria engine and physics.

I prefer the physics in the original and first GTA. I have given Rockstar a suggestion to implement this into the game.

I prefer GTA IV physics definitely

 

However, I would like them to increase the traffic speed, especially on freeways like in SA

 

Traffic was too slooooow in GTA IV

 

So if we have physics of IV but with faster traffic, that be nice

RAGE all the way baby. I hated when playing san andreas and a car wouldn't be able to actually run over a pedestrian or the protagonist, and would only bump them. That would make me rage so hard! In gtaIV i would drive down the sidewalk in my inferno loosing no speed, making bodies fly all over the place until i either hit a car or drifted off into a wall.

Rage but people should be less clumsy and vehicles should be faster and less clunky.
