ZeeKid2k10
I think GTA5 is going Accurate GPS size of L.A and some few other towns cities around it. GTA5 = 30-50 Sq
HOTMILFDAD
Repeating the press release confirms nothing. +1 Don't you guys see the "..." at the end? This is not the normal "Rockstar-Style". heh, you know, that stuck out to me too! I just didn't want to say anything because you guys would tear me apart
NoxiousWR
I look at it this way... They say its the largest and most ambitious game they've created and that it will have a very big map. We all know that there will be no way they can 'block off' parts of Los Santos (like theyve done with all islands in GTA) without it being stupid so it stands to reason that there's more than one city but that isn't saying it's SF or LV. Either way, the game will be big and will most likely be a step above GTA IV.
Durden
You bumbling fool, R* hasn't confirmed no LV or SF. IF ANYTHING, they sugar-coated something. But they were far from denying it. I don't get it anyways; if you're truly a GTA fan, why do you guys try so hard to discourage the possibility of the other two cities? You would think a fan of the series would hope for all 3 cities, but instead your creating a f*cking thread just for the sake of trying to prove otherwise? Disgusting! Gather up real evidence or GTFO, you buffoon!

locolow2011
Now, don't get me wrong, i don't think we'll have SF and LV, BUT they didn't deny it. Dingdongs
I have a good feeling we'll at least see Alaska and Antarctica /sarcasam Confirmed by Rockstar that there won't be any LV or SF. I said in the DLC.
bucsfan
I'm only getting my hopes up for San Diego since it is in Southern California and it'll at least give us somewhere to fly to. I hope there's quite a substantial amount of countryside/desert separating it from Los Santos too. I wish SF and LV would've been included, but oh well, Rockstar will make it work. I guess GTA:San Andreas will still be the best game of all time
Gtaghost22
This doesnt confirm anything!! , they just copy & pasted what they said before... I know that 90% LV and SF wont be in GTA! But i'm just saying that this still doesnt confirm a thing. I hope we will got San Diego at least They didn't just copy and paste what they said before, the put a question before it, out of hundreds or thousands of questions they could have chosen, that specifically asks about SF and LV. They repeated what they said before about location as the answer to this SF/LV question. The answer to the question is not yes. A game that has SF and LV in it does not match the game Rockstar is describing.

There's that word 'surrounding' that is San Fierro is in the surrounding area too. San Fran is fairly close to LA in real life isn't it but Rockstar always adjust things a little. I'm 95% sure that San Fierro will be there but not Las Venturas it may take up too much disc space. But 8x the size of San Andreas, can't wait!!! Algonquin Assassin
What amazes me is that they say it will be "their biggest map ever", but we only have Los Santos and thecountryside. The countryside must be ginormous then! Not necessarily. GTA IV's LC without countryside was only a fraction smaller than SA. Now assuming LS is a big as LC (If not bigger) the countryside itself doesn't need to be huge. Even with just one city and surrounding areas GTA V can easily be the biggest map R* have ever made. But 8x the size of San Andreas, can't wait!!! http://www.mapcrow.info/Distance_between_L...ancisco_US.html According to this San Francisco is 347.16 miles away from LA or 558.68 km to us. Not exactly what I'd call "surrounding". That's about half a state away. Also one thing that makes San Fierro and Las Venturas almost impossible to be in GTA V is R* have said it's a "Re-imagined Southern California". San Francisco (San Fierro) is in the northern part of California and Las Vegas (Las Venturas) isn't in California at all. Expect GTA V to be much more realistically scaled than SA was which was basically a highly condensed California and Nevada. The sheer geography inaccuracies that contradict GTA V's proposed location are more than enough evidence to me that San Fierro and Las Venturas will NOT be in GTA V. I suppose people can think what they like, but to me I think it's been right infront of us the entire time. If this game was to have San Fierro and Las Venturas I believe the press release statement would've went something like this.... "GTA V heads to the city of Los Santos and the state of San Andreas blah blah blah....." . IMO they're used "re-imagined Southern California" for a reason. I think the countryside is pretty big. If you look at the windfarm sceene in the trailer, you see alot of mountains far in the background, and you don`t see any parts of the city. HOTMILFDAD
The countryside is pretty big. Just to put it in perspective, in the trailer we see both a mountain and a desert. The mountain scene had a bunch of trees, so it's safe to assume it's in a wooded area. The desert was...well, like a desert. So saying it's not big is implying these two locations are a couple of feet away. Not possible. In order to get to the forest from the desert, there has to be a transition besides the city of Los Santos.

I know there can be airstrips in the desert and countryside but it seems like you would need something important to be able to fly to. Giving the player the excitement of traveling distances in order to arrive at an location that is amazing. Not just to arrive in the desert turn around and drive all the way back empty handed. I don't know, I'm sure it is going to be cool either way.

Not even the smaller towns, I just imagine myself just looking at the countryside and just seeing nothing but rolling hills. Similar to this: There's no doubt about it, guys. Fuzz_ball
Also look at the two parts they said. LA and surrounding country side and re-imaged of So-cal. Back in SA trailers, was just Los santos, then LV and SF came in to play. Who knows, maybe just LS in the first trailer but maybe another big city in So-Cal will be in it too, Like Bakersfield nd SD. Plus in GTA: IV, we all thought it'll be just LC, but we had a small Albery (NJ) in the play. Hopefully we can get a good idea on map size in a few months. o3o
Mv6
Can we expect to see the following in GTA V Santa Monica mountains, San Gabriel mountains under "surrounding hills". A representation of Orange County and the Inland Empire under the phrase "countryside" The Malibu, Santa Monica, Redondo and Venice "beaches".
