Errors With The Disc

GTA IV was no doubt a good game and had minor issues but that's not the point. The point I am trying to bring up is that GTA IV had so much glamour and good graphics on the consoles and had so much going at once if not multiple but hundreds of GTA IV disc got burned, literally. Not overexaggerating, I myself went threw 5 GTA IV disc and every single one got a burn mark on it and with my 6th one I downloaded it to my hard drive and I still have the same Xbox and no other game did that.

The one thing I am really scared of is that the game will have the same Occurrence and will happen again and I would suggest to you console people may want to download the game to our hard drive...

Have you guys ever witness this? and if you did do you think it will happen with V?

Your thought's people?

5 times? Is your console/PC okay?

That's a problem with the xbox, not the game. If you went through 5 disks, I think It's time you got a new console instead of wasting more money. And if it was a problem with the game, why have I never heard about this?

I had one copy of GTA IV and it's been serving me well for over 3 years. If you had to go through that many discs, then as others have said, it was probably a problem with the console itself. Buying a new one may be the most advisable course of action to take

Like I said guys, I remember reading articles about it online but I can't find them at the moment I am still looking but other people that I asked had the same issue were it would make a small burn in the disc.

EDIT: I had never had a issue with any other game besides this

I played GTA IV for well over a year on my 360 without installing it to its hard drive, because I was a noob and simply didn't bother to look into the features of my console. Despite that, my disc never got burned, I still have it today and it plays fine. My 360 is the 120 GB Elite model, I got it in 09.

If there is an error on the disc that causes this, surely shouldn't it have also happened to me?

Most likely your console, Slick or a freak accident. Do you have an adequate fan on your Xbox 360? If not, overheating is not only a factor but so is what you described. I have never had this problem, but my Xbox does tend to heat up a lot; I have a good fan and the 250 GB XB360 S model.

I never heard of games being burned...in this context.

But back when I played IV on Xbox 360 in '08, the 360 killed the disc with a deep 360-degree (haha) scratch, it also damaged another disc in similar fashion, but these were due to an issue with the console when tipped or moved the laser or something would f*ck itself right into the disc, nothing to do with R*.

Sure it was my own fault, but accidents happen, I'd had that IV disc less than a week (since day 1) so basically wasted £40. Never had that issue with a PS2 lol

I'd agree your best action now would be to purchase a new unit, it does seem strange that it's only IV that it happened to, but to have it happen to 5/6 discs to me would be more than enough to ditch that unit.

5 Disks, that has to be a problem with your console, I've still got my original disc from the day GTA IV first was released and it still works perfectly!

Never happened to me. I had GTA 4 for at least 4 years and played it constantly. Maybe you should get your console checked out.

I still have the original disc I got the day of release. But then again I played mine on the PS3. I use to have a 360 and other then the red rings I didn't have any issue with it. As many have stated could be your 360.

You burnt five discs and you're still blaming the game? I've seen some flawed logic in my time, but this is just silly.

I think your xbox is the real villain here.

I've played GTAIVs story easily over 20 times and never had anything like that, i think your xbox is messed up.

That's a somewhat common problem with the XBOX actually, my little cousin was complaining his XBOX burns discs. Buying new discs won't fix the problem.
