abottig
I don't think a majority of the scenes were pre-rendered. The only ones that looked pre-rendered was the dudes robbing the jewelry store and the Ned Luke man in the suit on the building. No, I don't think the graphics are too good to be true. IV was intentionally dark and grey because it was set in an October NYC time. However, GTA V in my opinion will likely be set around May-July, which means that it will intentionally look a lot more cheery. Not only that, hardware has improved since 2008. The Xbox 360 and PS3 probably have a lot more hardware power. Cut scene isnt the same as pre-rendered. The scenes on the balcony, and outside the jewelry store are rendered in real time just as every other scene.
73duster
GTA IV trailers looked beatifull while the actual graphics are just a pile of sh*t. Bullsh*t. It's the other way around. Even the final console game looks better than the first trailer. I would recommend you an optician.. I demand you eat sh*t. The final release looks blurry. It does NOT look blurry on my PS3 On Topic: i believe what we saw in the trailer is the PS3/Xbox 360 version.. Believe me! PC graphics looks better than this, and BTW if you think GTA V's trailer graphics are too good! Then you never played Uncharted 2 & 3 , or watched The Last of Us trailer Lol, please learn the difference between Open world games and linear straight forward gameplay like uncharted games... It requires a ton more power to run an open world game that looks like uncharted you twat. Open world games can't be on pair with scripted linear straight forward games like uncharted. It would require a much much much more powerful machine. Ofc I've played all those games. You guys understand that Max Payne 3 is not an OPEN WORLD game right? and therfore can focus on having higher detailed terrain/ enviornment? Smaller levels= put alot more detail into that level, and you have to load more often. In an open world game, you have NO LOADING when going around the city. Which means you cannot have that HIGH LEVEL OF DETAIL, because there is not enough power in the PS3 to prosess it? they need lower detailed enviornment so that the game play's smoothly and does not lag. Have you never seen the pop-in textures in a GTA game? Excellent point. GTA should only be compared to OTHER open world titles. It is far more difficult to maintain high quality graphics on a huge scale that is required for maps that are complete living, breathing environments. Sure, Uncharted is incredible graphically, but it is basically a beautiful painting where the only thing that is alive are the AI you encounter. In fact, the AI is barely more than part of a linear story. Everything is predetermined, and feels like it. It's a great game, but it's comparing apples and oranges. As of now, i AM impressed by the trailer. It looks AWESOME, and Rockstar has gotten progressively better at creating environments that look better and better with each new game. It is no secret that these consoles have yet to have been pushed to their limit, and recently, we are seeing games which are surpassing even the biggest critics expectations. I thought that RDR was an incredible achievement in graphics for a completely open world sandbox. It's hard to imagine GTAV being much better than that. Hvitdverg
I have no doubt in R* being able to make the best looking third person open world shooter for this generation of consoles. We will all find out when the game releases in late October- mid November 2012(yes, my prediction.) Hopefully R* releases 1 or 2 more trailers for GTA V before launch. Asked & Answered is also wished for, but if R* decide to make it for GTA V. They better not include a whole lot of info, don't want to get spoiled and ruin my first experience playing the game.
