Stop whining, and use your common sense and realise that these consoles still have a fighting chance, theres still more power to be squeezed out, believe me. And, @OP, Rockstar really cheered the city up in Ballad of gay Tony, you could see a lot of work was done to work with what they had, to make the city feel much more vibrant and colourful. GTA:IV is supposed to have muted autumnal colours in keeping with the sobering tone of the story. TLAD is supposed to have a grainy, slightly sepia tone to it to reflect it's gritty nature. And TBOGT is supposed to have bright clear graphics as part of it's fun theme. I've seen some mods in which the trees have been turned bright green and it just looks all so wrong. It's supposed to be in the fall for f*cks sake. The leaves are supposed to be golds and browns. These different colour palettes are not to everyone's taste. But many people cannot seem to differentiate between colour themes and other aspects of graphical appearance. So those that don't like any given tonal theme therefore regard the graphics as being bad overall. But on the plus side, GTA:V does look to have a bright Californian appearance. The graphics will be from gameplay. What we can't tell is if we'll get the extraordinary draw distance and so forth. I do hope we will have anti-aliasing options this time. PC graphics looks better than this, and BTW if you think GTA V's trailer graphics are too good! It requires a ton more power to run an open world game that looks like uncharted you twat. Open world games can't be on pair with scripted linear straight forward games like uncharted. It would require a much much much more powerful machine. Ofc I've played all those games. You guys understand that Max Payne 3 is not an OPEN WORLD game right? and therfore can focus on having higher detailed terrain/ enviornment? Smaller levels= put alot more detail into that level, and you have to load more often. In an open world game, you have NO LOADING when going around the city. Which means you cannot have that HIGH LEVEL OF DETAIL, because there is not enough power in the PS3 to prosess it? they need lower detailed enviornment so that the game play's smoothly and does not lag. The graphics definitely aren't as good as that trailer. The graphics started looking worse around trailer 3. And trailer 1 had bad graphics? It actually had a shining sun through the buildings. While the console version will look nice it won't have nearly the same amount of detail and draw distance displayed in the trailer but who knows I would love if R* proved us wrong. And the actual game footage are bad unless using ENB to archieve more clear graphics. These screenshots are so much smooth and notice the sparkles when exploding stuff. They're one of the most well respected and most skilled development companies in the history of gaming. They have been developing RAGE for years and will probably continue to even into the next generation of consoles, each one of their games is going to look better than the last. Advancements in shader technology and the lessons learned from previous games will always allow developers to step up the quality of graphics to higher levels, even on older platforms like Xbox and PS3. Nobody was complaining about GTA IV's graphics when it was released on consoles. In 2008 it was one of the best looking games ever made, but a lot can happen in 4 years. The game doesn't look anywhere near as good as it used to, but still looks great. It's 2012 now, and GTA V looks absolutely amazing. The detail in the models/textures is amazing, the atmosphere is great, they've adopted the 3D clouds from Red Dead Redemption, everything looks excellent. Rockstar wont let that much time pass by without working on their craft, this game will looks amazing even next to games like Battlefield 3. Just imagine it when it's inevitably released on PC! EDIT: Jacko what are you on about, those screenshots don't look anywhere near as good as the final release . It looks amazing. GTA V looks like 2008 graphics, but hey, it's GTA. Most GTA players prefer gameplay to graphics. EDIT: Also, @Jacko: The promo screenshots you posted look worse than that gameplay shot. If you want to convince people of something, you should post pics that are sustaining your opinion. Whenever I play it I have to pinch myself to remember it came out in 2008. Not too many sandbox games at that time looked as good and IMO it still looks great compared to some new ones.
