Please say they are Joking, tell me that this isn't happening Look at it this way: you've got much less time to wait than years you've already waited. This is the final stretch! IV is dead as nobody goes on it anymore and the only games that are avaliable is the dreadful and boring CoD series which should have died after CoD 3 and many more which i'm not interested in (my p.o.v). llpalm08 Posted February 13, 2012 Share Posted February 13, 2012 Im happy about this, it makes the wait for new info less of a pain, in the next few months is May-June time so just after MP3 is out so my guess is early to mid June or early to mid may, this way it will either boost the knowledge of MP3 just before or just after its release from people checking rockstargames.com and if it reveals a release date at the same time for October then it wont affect the sales of MP3 in a negative way. On another note, if V really is the largest to date, why the chuff could they not split the map up?? Why would you want them to split the map up like they've been doing for years? I'd rather they actually give us the whole city of Los Angeles from the start, and instead we actually have to unlock the countryside this time. Looking at Southern California, its basically a big flat lump of map. Countryside may add some variety, but its smoke and mirrors really. If they hadnt chosen to try and do this real world again, they would have freedom to make the best of whats worked before. I wasn't expecting anything huge till after MP3 is released, so the confirmation is just reassuring. Also, if you notice the wording, "talking much more... starting at some point" implies we'll be getting a full-steam-ahead marketing schedule kicking in after MP3's release. They dont realise they are drawing interest away from Gta V to attract it to MP3 when clearly they would make more if they only sold Gta V and provided monthly info, instead of more of MP3 and 2 sentences every 6 months on Gta V. Its not as beneficial as they think. All it does is increase people asking/sending them questions, that result in wasting time to repeatedly reply to and read. Some marketing scheme!! Yeah, imagine if the GTA 4 DLC's, LA Noire and Max Payne 3 were cancelled, we'd already have GTA V by now! You didn't get it? R* was confident in all these titles. Does the game take place in a re-imagined, present day Southern California or does it take place in the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches? I need clarification between the two. I understand it will be the largest and most ambitious open world game they've ever created, but damn, this is nuts. The way they announced the trailer makes me confident that they could easily pull off a short advertising campaign if they wanted to. I don't think it'll start in May, but a July-September campaign followed by a October release could be enough for a game like V. Whether they'll actually do that depends on things we don't know yet (e.g. how finished the game is or whether they've already decided on a 2013 release). @SGT. Johnson: April is in Spring. I'm pretty sure they want to keep up the hype train for MP3 until it releases, and then once it does, we will get some more info. I am now a believer in their strategy here. They are piggy-backing off of GTA's success to promote MP3. It's pretty clever if you think about it. My guess? New screenshots and info near the end of May, trailer at E3 in June. BUT THEY DIDN'T SAY NOT LAS VENTURAS AND SAN FIERRO THEREFORE IT'S CONFIRMED THEY WILL BE IN THE GAME (obviously kidding) Either way, it's sort of sad we won't hear anything for a few more months but it's better to know this and not get our hopes up for information anytime sooner. Well any future Noire games will be done by R* 100% since Team Bondi obviously met its demise shortly after the game's release. But seriously, it's like they're telling us "Hey, you've been waiting for new info for three and a half months already, just wait a few more months and we'll start talking about V". I'm not one of those guys who are impatient but maybe they made a mistake by releasing the trailer in November, don't you think? They should have announced the game in January and the trailer a week or two after the announcement. But hey, nothing we can do about it. So we didn't get any new information about GTA5 today but we got the following details confirmed: * No new GTA5 information in February or March. POSSIBLY in April but don't expect huge details until after the release of Max Payne 3. Maybe they'll give us a release date and the platforms in April but most likely we won't get any new details about the game until late May/early June. * Once again, Rockstar confirms it's Los Santos and surrounding countryside. Do not expect Las Venturas and San Fierro. If your expectations are high you will only get disappointed when the game is released. I just can't see why some people still believe Las Venturas and San Fierro will be in this game. * ...and it will be the largest and most ambitious open world game we’ve ever created… We knew from the official statement and the interview with Dan Houser that GTA5 will have a big map. But when I read that sentence above it seriously makes me think that GTA5 will be extremely big. The largest open game world we've ever created... OH MAN!
