cbiscuit93
People say that animals don't belong in GTA, due to the violent nature of what you would probably be able to do to them. Well I was just playing Duke Nukem 3D, a game from the 90's... I've decided if you can do that in Duke Nukem, then I don't see what the problem would be for GTA. XTREME0235
I think it's got more so to do with what people will make of the graphical nature of today's games in terms of violence and gore, you place that with animals and certain people will go crazy at the thought of animals body parts flying every where. Although Rockstar did it really good with Red Dead Redemption so I don't see what the fuss would be this time round with another Rockstar title. Aesthetic
They should put blowing off limbs on people but not on animals, seeing how some how people will get offended. Then again it just wouldn't seem right, well it's R* decision.
ZombLee
It did get a lot of criticism for promoting murder and games weren't AS widespread/mainstream back then. not every kid would be begging their parents to get them Duke Nuke 3d (or at least I didn't..) Also the gore can be a lot more graphic and less cartoony than duke nukem. btw I have nothing against killing animals if they're in the game Edited February 12, 2012 by ZombLee
Gtaghost22
I dont know why some people dont want GTA V to have animals!! I mean its just a....FU.CKING GAME!! What is wrong with killing animals in a GAME! its not like we are killing them in real life too!
senor_huevos_benedicto
Well I'm glad that you've come to a decision. I don't know why, for this argument, you chose a game from the nineties instead of Red Dead Redemption, but anyway... Yeah, there have been animals in violent games before, but I just don't think that GTA needs animals. But why is this an issue? There was a dog in the trailer! That means that dogs are in the game! Big_Mitch_Baker
Well I can finally sleep well knowing you've made a decision Personally I think it's a sign of R*'s cowardly nature. They didn't mind taking risks with sex and violence when they were a budding game company, but now that they're big they tip-toe around psychos like PETA. "Oh no! Someone might write us a letter!?!". Grow some balls Rockstar and just go for it! Add in Animal killing, give us some more Hot Coffee, stop bowing down to pressure from the crazy minority. I don't see why shooting up Animals is wrong but blowing a person to bits is fine "Don't hurt that dog! His pixels make him look fuzzy! Oh, that bum? Put a slug in his head!" lol

Exactly. +5 Animals in GTA V would be terrific, and it would add more realism in the game, not to mention fun , too. Although, mentally addicted idiots will do retarded things in real life, and GTA would get blamed for it. C'mon, this game ain't for retards! Ludzidocelowych
I don't get people who are offended by killing animals/kids in video games If they're in the game, I'll mow animals and kids down in my car trying to escape the police on a 5 star wanted level Because they're not real, it is a video game, people just can't distinguish reality from fiction I guarantee if the people who did 9/11 were able to do it in a video game, 9/11 never would have happened
GtaVComments
No. Ive come to a decision. If they harm me, ill f*cking harm them, HANDILY. Hows that for your animals. Wannabe in LS
RDR had animals that could fight back or pose a threat, so there was an element of kill or be killed to it. Wether that will fly in a game where I guess animals will be added for effect rather than a mechanic is another matter. I hope they have included hunting, though. More for recreation than money earning, as it's not the old west and essential to live off the wildlife.

Grand_Theft_Peanut
THAT IS A 2D DOG THAT WAS BLOWN UP!!!! has no similarity to a real life dog. The reason its an issue these days is because games look very realistic and killing a dog in a realistic way depicts killing a real dog. When u kill that dog in Duke Nukem u know its not a real dog, its just a few pixels

Snake Without a Tongue
After the animal bloodbath of RDR I think the controversy over animals in GTA is passe. I just hope I don't have to dodge an unrealistic amount of puppies playing in the street.
senor_huevos_benedicto
I think they want to keep GTA as an M, because in America some places refuse to sell AO titles if I'm not mistaken. It's all about percentages - you might have been able to kill animals in Red Dead but it wasn't supported and in that game you couldn't sleep with hookers, which took the 'rating scale' down a bit. With the added ability to bang hookers, adding killable animals into the mix, along with everything else, would probably push it over the edge. However, as there is a dog in the trailer, we can assume that there are animals in the game. I don't think they'll be killable, however.

RockStarNiko
Animals should be included in the countryside Just like in RDR we can go hunting or fishing as an activity After hunting/fishing you and your friends make a campfire in the woods/on the beach and eat what you hunted For other animals you can sell fur, hides, antlers etc at countryside stores
