I always wanted difficulty levels in GTA.. Since GTA is my favourite game franchise, i play it alot so i'm really used to the gameplay mechanics.. Its not a challange any more! Also Sandbox/Open World games tend to be easy.. So a Difficulty option is a MUST for me.

What about you? Do you want Difficulty Levels in GTA V? Tell me what you think..

PS: If this was recently discussed.. Feel free to lock this topic/poll

Edit: i forgot to say that i voted for "Optional Hardcore Mode" cuz recent GTAs are already easy (kinda).. No need for Easy difficulty

Honestly, I don't see the point or the need to have a number of selectable difficulty levels and I don't think it would work for any open-ended video game, let alone a Grand Theft Auto game, in my opinion.

Why not? It could work in GTA V.. Other open world games have difficulty Levels.. inFAMOUS ,Just Cause 2, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3 (Hardcore Mode)

I put only hardcore mode. Something like realistic car damage, no autoaim, guns kill you quick, ect. Or an options menu where you can change these settings.

I think Gta iv was perfect i don't know why people want more difficulty. I mean the car chases are hard enough i don't want it to get any harder, but a better checkpoint system would be great.

This is a First on my wishlist for GTA V!! (along with a HUGE detailed map) , I really hope there is a Hardcore Mode in GTA V which make the game harder and more realistic!! The recent GTAs were really EASY (esp. GTA: VCS & GTA IV). I hope GTA V is way HARDER!

i hate choosing difficulty at the start of any games, I always have the nagging feeling sitting in the back of my head that I'm ruining the game if I make it too hard or made it too easier and should start over. If you want more of a challenge maybe completing all the bonus side objective would be for your liking.

I like GTA how it is...difficulty levels wouldn't make sense if we could just stop using cheats and turn off auto aim for the same purpose.

GTA without cheats IMO is significantly harder to play when free-roaming and shooting at the police due to the limited health and weapons.

An option wouldn't hurt though.

Thats what i want.. "an OPTIONAL Hardcore Mode" that would please me enough!

PS: i dont use cheats on my first playthrough.. But the GTA games are still easy without cheats (kinda) cuz i'm so used to the gameplay mechanics.. (i played every GTA.. Except Chinatown Wars)

There's absolutely no point to having difficulty levels. You want the game to be hard: disable auto-aim, the HUD, and refrain from using cheats. It's that simple. What you see is what you get; that's how GTA has always been and that's how it will stay.

Yeah I see what you mean an option is freedom and given the flag below my member picture... biggrin.gificon14.gif to freedom.

Like i said i NEVER use cheats in first playthrough.. And i ALWAYS play with auto-aim disabled!! But the game is still EASY! I dont think it would hurt if an OPTIONAL Hardcore Mode is included in GTA V..

I wouldn't have any objection to a special Hardcore mode as an option. But I don't really see a need for any additional difficulty levels since GTA isn't really that hard to where an Easy mode would be necessary. So I'd be fine with having a Normal option as the default setting, and then a Hardcore setting for those who want to add more challenge to their gaming experience. Don't really need anymore than those two imo.

Never really liked the idea of diificulty levels in sandbox games. I think it should be harder than GTA IV, but it should be progressive like it's always been.

I second that...as long as normal isn't watered down to accommodate Hardcore.

Ok! If they wont add difficulty levels in GTA V!! I pray to god that it will be WAY HARDER! Then rescent GTAs , cuz GTA IV (and Vice City Stories) were REALLY easy... I finished them without using a single cheat on my first playthrough.. (auto-aim Disabled on GTA IV)

The more you fail a mission, the easier the game makes it for you. The only reason for difficulty levels in GTA is so you can brag that you never failed a mission*.

*On easy mode

I'm a sucker for a hardcore mode, adds more replay ability. Would love that feature. You should have to beat the game first on normal mode.

When there an achievment for compleeing Hardcore mode, thats when it fails.

I will probably never even try for it.

The missions vary in difficulty enough, lets just hope for some harder missions.

For f*ck's sake, YES. That's been at the top of my wish list since before GTA IV even came out. I actually found most of the games in the series a bit too easy.

I would prefer progressive/adaptable difficulty (as it's always been) with an option of replaying the game (or any mission) in Hardcore mode.

So you normally use cheats on your first playthrough?

why would you want it to be so hard you HAVE to use cheats. I never use cheats on the first playthrough of ANY game.

To be honest I dont care that much about Trophies/achievments.. I only want the game to be HARDER! , it wont matter to me if completing the game on Hardcore Mode didnt earn you a trophy/achievment.. I just want an Optional Hardcore Mode because the recent GTAs were really easy

I NEVER use cheats in my first playthrough!

ok, sorry.

then what's the point of saying:

I finished them without using a single cheat on my first playthrough..

since you never use cheats on your first playthrough anyway.
