So, it's official? You're actually just trolling a dead womans rememberance thread? Classy. I willl never understand what people saw in this woman. She sang tired, predictable love songs. She had ZERO personality. No charisma, no gimmick to hide what a bland, vapid headcase she really was. What a beautiful statement. R.I.P. WHITNEY!!! El Dildo
So, that was her whole gimmick? She was a bubbly, energetic woman with a sense of humor? My, how original. Because from where I'm standing she was just another female singer with no discernable character (Beyond being 'normal') and a paper-thin ego. We've seen dozens like her, people with a semi-decent voice who don't have any individuality whatsoever. That's why this story is already being brushed aside whereas Michael Jackson hogged the headlines for days after his demise. She was neither particularly original or special, sorry. you were obviously born after the 80's. you clearly don't know anything about her. keep talking though. your ignorance is amusing. HydraulicWaRiOr
Suprise, suprise, what do you expect? Bobby Brown turned her into a crackhead. Well, at least there is still her male counterpart, well...somewhat. [OBEY]

Well, at least there is still her male counterpart, well...somewhat. That's not true even in the slightest. Bobby Brown didn't introduce her to the wild side. She was already there on her own. If memory serves correctly, he didn't derail her from a path of healthy and safe living. Whitney chose that hard living lifestyle before they met. Those who have it all take the craziest risks with drugs. I could go over all the obvious names but it's just that it baffles me that being a singer can lead to such a wild lifestyle and eventually death; especially when they have so much to live for. lil weasel
These RIPs are nice, but I feel they get out of hand. It's one thing to have really liked the artist, but... RIP's are getting like the 'Standing Ovation'. They used to be for a really, really good performance. Now it seems every act has nitwits standing and screaming. You get hoarse shouting, 'Down in front' and they just turn to give you a dirty look. Simple seated applause should do the trick for 95% of the acts. This lady was a nice performer, she hit too many high notes, and carried them too long for me. The question now, is who will comprise "the three"? Slamman
@Attorney General I never said MJ and Whitney had no success in their careers before they passed. WHAT I DID say was that they were not musically active before their deaths, the rehearsals that MJ recorded and cement his legacy show he was still talented, there's no question, but to say album sales didn't spike in a significant way AFTER he died is denying the facts He was more noted for controversy in the press then his album at number one in the charts, same case with Whitney I do think it's idiotic to get involved in the celeb lifestyle that really ultimately destroys you, that's what I'm pointing out in my own opinion

But she used it primarily for trite, by-the-numbers love songs. She was a living example of untapped potential. At the end of the day a great voice means nothing, less than nothing. We remember personality, character, uniqueness. And I maintain that she had nothing of the sort.

I will always love you was a Dolly Parton song that she covered and it was the song Whitney is most known for. Not what we would call an artist to its truest extent. To be fair, all I remember her for is her extensive crack addiction and copious photographs of her bathroom littered with drug paraphernalia, as well as some ridiculously drug addled mugshots. I wasn't aware of, didn't and still don't care about her music career as it's rather obvious she contributed nothing of any real. longstanding value. I'm sure she has numerous fans, but as it stands, she didn't really do much of any true significance. So, I tend to agree with you, albeit with less outspokenness. Any death is a sad affair, so a RIP is of course in order, but I'm not too bothered by this. DeeperRed
Any death is sad and I do wish she rests in peace however I don't think all the headlines and news coverage was needed. She was not that truly amazing, she was as Thypus put it, an untapped potential. All I know her for really is here rabid crack addiction, and you can blame it on the drug all you want but it was her fault, she blew her money and life on crack. I feel sorry for someone who is out there luck and there only sort of real escapism is drugs, but I have very little sympathy for a multi-millionaire who blows all there cash on drugs.
