Capricornus
Yeah..... Its unfortunate that she got into the drugs they way she did. Her voice is incomparable, and I am glad to say that I have always been a fan. R.I.P Whitney Houston.

Jeeebuuus
She had the voice of a goddess, there is no denying it. Nobody really could top her pipes. Maybe opera singers but we are talking what people are familiar with.
El Dildo
"...cause of death unknown..." are you kidding? she smoked crack for years. for YEARS. CRACK. of all the drugs out there. she had millions of dollars. she was a celebrated icon. she could have had anything she wanted at the drop of a hat; the best alcohol, cocaine, hash, marijuana, or heroine that money (and connections) can buy. she could have had anything in the world delivered to her front door on the backs of male models painted in gold and dragging it on a sled made of platinum that had been soldered using the vaporized dust of the Hope Diamond. but she would rather smoke crack with Bobby. stupid woman. waste of abilities that most people would kill for. RIP I suppose.
Icarus
wupsPg5H6aE Whenever I think of how The Star-Spangled Banner should be sung at a Super Bowl, I think of her performance in 1991.
Tchuck
Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album. RIP Whitney.
Jeeebuuus
she smoked crack for years. for YEARS. Crack! Thats what it was. I said I thought it was heroin. It was crack cocaine. Bobby done her in.
El Dildo
well technically I was just being sensational. I think she's tried crack, but I'm sure in reality it was mostly just coke and marijuana. the problem is that she did A LOT of it. at least during the 80's. there's nothing wrong with marijuana obviously, but she definitely did A TON of coke. and that stuff is not nice to your heart, veins, or respiratory system. also... "First of all, let's get one thing straight. Crack is cheap. I make too much money to ever smoke crack. Let's get that straight. Okay? We don't do crack. We don't do that. Crack is wack." -Whitney Houston, 2002 Edited February 12, 2012 by El_Diablo

El Dildo
You probably undervalue the pressure of beeing really famous. you're probably right. but there's still no excuse. plenty of people have been really famous. they didn't all go off the deep end before 50. aw, boo hoo. I have millions of dollars. I'm beautiful. my voice is incredible. people give me everything I want. they love me all around the world. I sing and make movies for a living. yes having to deal with a life that most people can only dream of sure is hard work. here lemme blow this hard work up my nose so much and so often that it causes me to drop dead at 48. aw, poor me. NaidRaida
Yeah, the line between insanity and brilliance can be very thin, some may even cross it. Strange that this happens exactly on the weekend with the Grammy awards. Fluke?

Creed Bratton
Sometimes simple R.I.P is enough...yes she was a drug addict but she's dead now, show little respect. What for? She doesn't care. She's dead. And her family has more important things to worry about than opinions of people online. I think she was an idiot. All rich and famous people on drugs are idiots. I respect some of them because I love their work, but I don't respect their decisions regarding the use of drugs. I love Jimmy Hendrix for example, but he too was an idiot. As for Whitney, I don't even like her music.
