comlink126
I just reinstalled IV.I downloaded the updated windows live game patch.I didn't have to do this any other time but my game will not run without xlive.dll.I have never had to use xlive until this past installment. Now with the win live updated patch my game still does not run. Before this crash I was using xlive but none of my mods worked.Should I just buy another GTA IV and install it? Girish
Did you install the Live update from within the game? Because that is not recommended. Download and install it from here - http://www.rockstargames.com/support/IV/PC/GFWLupdate/ At what point does the game crash? Do you have any mods installed? When you uninstalled the game, did you check if there were any leftover files in the GTA IV folder? If there are any leftover files from the mods that you used before, they might be interfering and you need to delete them.

mkey82
You should go to programs in control panel, find any and all GFWL versions you have there and reinstall GFWL. Also, try using xliveless again to bypass possible GFWL issues. A new game will not solve this, if you are already using some means to install the original game. If you need any mod related help, you'll need to look on the mods board.
